In 2005, Aline Lotter tiptoed into a small detour from her career as a tax lawyer to try out the world of fine art.  Thanks to the proximity of a fine art school in Manchester, NH, she was able to get instruction in painting landscapes, Renaissance painting methods, and life drawing (live nude models). That transformed Aline's timid tiptoe into a power launch. Since then, she has studied with many masters to develop her skills in oil painting and drawing. Aline's favorite subjects are people, pets, landscapes and flowers. Her preferred method is to paint or draw from life (except the pets, who don't cooperate). By 2013, Aline gave up the law practice altogether in order to concentrate on painting and drawing. Her artworks have been exhibited nationally, from California, to Florida, and up and down the eastern seaboard, but especially in New Hampshire, where she continues to live and work. "I have been practicing yoga on and off for over 20 years. I started with classes in the Iyengar style and moved on to Ashanga yoga. I believe these gave me a great base to understand alignment, breathing, and strength. For me, yoga may have started as a place to tone and strengthen a few chronic back issues, but breathing and meditation have become equally important--each and every day my mind and body will be different in every class; it's a great lesson in humility! At YogaBalance, I love the variety of teachers and students who bring all their experiences and techniques with them. I am always learning and really do thank everyone for creating an environment to grow!".
