Papa Bear. Daddio. Padre. The Dadinator. Pops. No matter what you call him, I think we can all agree that Dad deserves to be celebrated. And there’s no better day to do that than on Father’s Day. With the ultimate goal of making him feel loved on his special day – and the 364 other days on the calendar, the good people of Woody’s Bar-B-Q have curated a list of five ways to wow dear old Dad…
Gear for the Grill Chef
As renowned pit masters and grill chefs ourselves, we understand the allure of the backyard BBQ for Dads everywhere. There’s nothing quite like smoking or grilling the perfect cut of meat – be it burgers or a big juicy steak – and seeing the look of enjoyment on your family’s faces with every single bite. There are always advances in the art of grilling, with the gear to go with it. The whole family could go in together to supply Dad with a new outdoor griddle or eco-friendly pellet grill, and it’s hard to go wrong with an apron that reads “Kiss the Chef.” If Dad isn’t a whiz on the grill, and you’d rather not encourage him to burn any future meals, lean into his favorite hobbies. There’s always gear that you can give him for golfing, fishing, hunting, at-home beer brewing, and more!
Dad-centric Experiences
If your Dad is a guy on the go, consider gifting him an experience he can enjoy with the whole family. Thrill seekers might appreciate passes to Jacksonville’s Adventure Landing or Orlando’s Universal Studios. Sports fans may lean more towards tickets to a Jags or Jumbo Shrimp game. Resident explorers might gravitate towards an adventurous day, tackling the scenic trails at Ponte Vedra Beach or the waves at Atlantic or Jacksonville Beach. And history buffs are bound to love an afternoon spent together at Fort Caroline National Memorial, the USS Orleck Naval Museum, the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, the historic Kingsley Plantation, or the Museum of Science and History. Old school rockers are likely to enjoy tickets to a tribute band or live concert. You also can’t go wrong with a day spent fishing off the pier, hitting balls at the golf range or batting cages, or nailing strikes at the bowling alley.
