F2B no date We are less than five weeks away from race day , and now the reality of the Fort2Base race has set in. Will you be able to complete the distance? What if it is a hot and humid day? How about that nagging pain \ injury that you have been ignoring for a while? Many of these questions are your brain trying to play games with you. Often our mind and body are not in sync and when we push ourselves physically, we need to remember to push ourselves mentally.

To train yourself mentally, I would go back to the beginning and ask; why do I run or walk? Some answers I have heard over the years include, to keep myself healthy, to lose weight or keep weight off, to escape from work, to be a healthy example to my family, to challenge myself to do something I have never done before, to prove that even as I get older I am still able to participate, to show cancer that I am in control, to meet new people, and the answers go on and on. When you are having a tough training day or worries set in, remind yourself why you started running and focus on the positive. If none of that seems to help, you can focus on the Fort2Base Race BLING!

Have you seen the finisher's medals? All Fort2Base Race finishers will receive a unique finisher's medal. The 10 Nautical Mile distance sold out last year and we are on track to sell out again this year. Do not miss out on the fun, register today!

Answers to your most frequently asked packet pickup questions:

1 - Can a military person pick up a nonmilitary person packet at the USO?

YES, we will have all the race packets with us at all packet pickup locations.

2 - Can my friend \ family member pick up my packet for me?

3 - I would like to change event distances, can I do that at packet pickup?

If an event has not sold out we will allow people to change from one distance to another. If the race has sold out we will no longer allow changes. We are able to make event changes now.

4 - My friend is unable to run, can I use their bib?

NO, registrations are no transferable to another person or another year due to USATF rules and regulations.

5 - I won't be able to attend the run, can you mail out my shirt?

I am sorry but we are unable to mail shirts, you can have a friend pick up your shirt on your behalf.

Answers to many other questions can be found on the Fort2Base website.
