What We're Reading
By Jen Beagin

This funny, insightful novel, published February 2023, is a love story between a sex therapist's transcriptionist and one of the therapist's clients.

Along the way, it examines several weighty topics, including infidelity, sex and sexuality, middle age, and the different ways people process trauma.

Nearly every one of Beagin's characters is quirky and unforgettable, particularly the therapist, a New Age-y man whose real name is Bruce but calls himself Om.

What We're Listening To
By The Gottman Institute

Every Monday and Wednesday, this podcast delivers, in fewer than five minutes, research-based tips to help couples improve their relationship.

The idea behind the podcast is that successful long-term relationships are created through many small words, gestures, and acts.

Recent episodes focus on topics such as asking for what you want or how to battle loneliness in a relationship.

The Gottman Institute was started in 1996 by John Gottman and his wife, Julie Schwartz Gottman, two internationally-renowned couples therapists.
