In today's fast paced world, it often helps to slow down, smell the flowers, and, yes, listen to the lyrics of current music as well as the classics. Of course, the "classics" is a relative term depending on when you were born and what you identify with. While I am an Elvis fan first and foremost, I do appreciate other music and songs including music by the greatest group of all time - The Beatles.
One song in particular has a simple important message - "Help!" In particular, the chorus brings out this message:
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me?"
The help you render to a friend does not need to arrive only when there is plea for help. You can choose to help a friend at any moment - at any time. When there is plea for help directly or indirectly, do what you can to help out.
As noted in the song, "I do appreciate you being 'round." In other words, there is a certain comfort in just having a friend being there to get through some tough times and issues.
Help! by the Beatles was released in 1965 which was over 50 years ago. The song and message are as fresh today as they were 50 years ago. There is a certain timeliness with many of the Beatles songs including the song Help! Furthermore, there is a certain timeliness in offering a helping hand.
The mission of the Good Deed Brigade is to promote the actions and kindness of people making a difference in the community. By completing this mission, the Good Deed Brigade hopes to encourage others to do their part to make the community a better place. Make today a great day and go out and "Help!" a friend. Remember, wherever you see the Good Deed Brigade, it's all good.
