50 Mothers Reunited with their Children

The LOHM Founder and CEO, Dr. Topeka K. Sam visited Hope House in Maryland this month to announce a groundbreaking new partnership. Through this collaboration, LOHM will now provide youth training and transitional support for young people aging out of the foster care system and those exiting juvenile detention.

This is about meeting young people at the crossroads before the system fails them again. Hope House has always been a place where women find their footing after incarceration. Now, we are extending that same safety, structure, and support to the next generation. Because breaking the cycle starts before the cycle starts.

Local 10 News in Miami featured Dr. Topeka K. Sam and the work The LOHM is doing in South Florida to help women rebuild their lives after prison. The story highlights Dr. Sam's own journey from federal prisoner to presidential pardon to national advocate and the direct-service programs in Miami to support women reentering their communities
