Gibbon Conservation Center

Hi Friend of the GCC

We hope you had a fantastic 4th of July! With summer in full swing, we’re excited to share some thrilling news from the center. This year marks our 50th Anniversary, a milestone that we wouldn't have reached without the incredible support of caring individuals like you. To make this occasion even more special, we have a generous donor who has stepped forward with an amazing offer to match every dollar donated, up to $10,000! It's a wonderful opportunity to double the impact of your support.

NEW JOURNEY

We are also happy to share news about the recent relocation of two of our pileated females, Iszie and Boo, who have embarked on new journeys to be paired with their future mates. Iszie has made her way to the Thiory Safari Zoo in France, while Boo has found her new home at the Cincinnati Zoo. These moves not only mark a fresh beginning for these remarkable gibbons but also play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts in gibbon conservation.

SCHOOL VISITS

Thanks to the generous support of a foundation, we have invited schools and youth groups to visit our center! These outreach efforts are not only an exciting opportunity for students to see gibbons but also foster a deeper understanding of the gibbons and their natural habitats. We anticipate welcoming even more schools this fall.

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

One of our Eagle Scouts has completed his ambitious stair project, while two others are currently in the planning stages of their own unique contributions. Each of these projects not only enhances the physical landscape of the center but also embodies the spirit of collaboration and community engagement.
