"The Summer Reading Challenge" - Macey


We're about to switch up our Inspire Us theme for the summer! Starting June 2 our new prompt will be "How do you Create?" in keeping with our Summer Reading Challenge theme of "Color Our World!" Share the ways you bring something beautiful to the world around you in one of the "Inspire Us" share jars at the Youth, Adult, and Circulation desks! Staff will draw entries each week. If yours is selected, you'll win library swag!

Test out your putting skills on our DIY mini golf course! Groups of five players will register for a time slot every thirty minutes.

Are you looking for an easy way to connect with your child? Local childrenʼs book Author Illustrator, Amy Nielander, will coach families on how to draw fun characters using her CREATE A CHARACTER Activity sheets. Parents and kids will improve drawing skills, stretch their creativity and practice think-on-your-feet problem solving skills.

Carol Egbo tells stories of Oakland County towns that have disappeared. Over time towns like Cole Station, Stony Run, Hicksville, and others faded away. Where were they located? What happened to them? This presentation will explore these questions.

This program is presented in partnership with the White Lake Historical Society.
