City of Sanibel Announces Time Capsule Artifacts Now Available for Online Viewing

The City of Sanibel is pleased to announce that many of the articles contained in the recently opened time capsule have been photographed and are now available for public viewing. These images can be accessed online via a PDF document on the city's website HERE.

On November 5, 2024, the City of Sanibel celebrated the opening of a time capsule commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the City's incorporation. The event, held at City Hall, welcomed current and former residents, City dignitaries, and visitors. City Council Members unveiled the contents of the capsule to those in attendance and shared the moment via a live stream for those watching from home.

To ensure these historical artifacts remain accessible to the community, the City has partnered with the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village to display the time capsule items. Watch for more information on exhibit opening date at the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village.
