BMW Dallas Marathon Festival - 50th Anniversary Highlights

Our 50th Anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival was truly an epic event. With over 26,000 runners (including 4,000 kids), 50,000 plus Expo attendees, over 100,000 spectators on the course and nearly perfect running conditions, the weekend celebration was labeled the best in the race’s 50-year history. With this year’s race, we have raised nearly $5 million for Scottish Rite for Children.  
We are already planning next year’s BMW Dallas Marathon Festival, to be held the weekend of December 9 – 11, 2022. Registration will open on April 15th to our loyalty runners and May 1st to the general public. With ten weekend events, we have a race distance for every member of the family to participate in.

The winner of the special edition 2021 BMW 4 Series Coupe was Carolyn! Congratulations Carolyn on your new BMW car!
One of the highlights of the weekend was our one-minute start line sizzle video (HERE), with the theme song “Back to Life”. The goal of the sizzle video was to:
 
  • Show some of the rich 50-year history of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival
  • Have a theme song that reflected what this event meant to thousands of runners, spectators and volunteers
  • Provide an exciting 10 second countdown to start each of our 10 races throughout the weekend

CBS 11 / TXA 21 provided an exciting 30-minute broadcast of the start of the Marathon on Sunday (HERE).
