Glass Class Club

L’enfance de l’art from Madeleine Sargent

Opening April 17th • 5:00-7:30PM

Closing with a ticketed letter writing night May 1st • 6:00-8:00PM

L’enfance de l’art, a French expression suggesting something instinctive and elemental, guided this series. In France, postcard-sized paintings allowed me to sustain my practice through play, curiosity, and quiet adaptation. Intimate in scale, they hold deep meaning for me, symbolizing connection—to home, to loved ones, to memories. Even in the face of uncertainty, a postcard remained possible. In my moments of doubt or exhilaration, I turned inward, translating feeling into small, self-contained worlds, each one poised to travel. From France to DC, and onward, each piece holds the possibility of connection.

Immanent Fray

April 25 - May 30

Opening reception: Saturday, April 25th • 2-4pm. The artist will be in attendance.

Morton Fine Art is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Jaz Graf, on view through April 25 - May 30, 2026.

Positioned at the threshold between dissolution and emergence, IMMANENT FRAY examines the generative potential of fray as both material condition and philosophical inquiry. Graf works with mulberry fiber, silk, and worn sacred cloth—materials embedded with histories of touch, ritual, and cultural memory—to explore systems of interconnectedness. Under magnification, her paper work reveals a dense web of fibers, echoing the concept of “interbeing,” as articulated by Thich Nhat Hanh.
