Change is Coming

Sep 2nd - 23rd

Artists & Makers Studios

Rockville Maryland

This solo show will include drawings from a few series with the unifying theme of examining personal and inward shifts — how people respond to social and political upheaval, emotional challenges, and outside influences; how people confront unexpected discord while living with past and present trauma; and crossing personal and physical borders. These are personal narratives told in the context of unfolding events: how we respond defines us.

Opening reception: Sep 11th • 5 - 8pm

Artist meet, greet & hang out: Sep 19th • 2 - 4pm

Rare Ink

It Won’t All Wash Away

It Won’t All Wash Away brings together a body of work that confronts the idea of cleansing—what can be removed, and what remains no matter how much time, pressure, or silence is applied. Through layered color, graffiti marks, and symbolic imagery, the exhibition explores memory, identity, faith, and history as forces that cannot be erased.

Aug 15th • Creative Workshop: Layering, Memory & Material

Aug 22nd • Community Conversation: What Remains — Art, Identity & Remembrance

Aug 29th • Closing Reception

Artist Call 2026-2027: For Art, We Stand

Rare Ink proudly announces its Artist Call for 2026-2027 entitled “For Art, We Stand”. For Art, We Stand is a year-long exhibition and media journey that explores the communities we serve and how they are impacted by today’s current political climate and events. The Artist Call will feature several exhibition platforms that elevate creators whose work speaks to perseverance, migration, resilience, identity, and belonging.

Solo Artist Series

The flagship exhibit program of Rare Ink produced alongside our Collector’s Board. The Solo Artist Series platforms juried artists with an opportunity to stage a 45–90-day show.

Emerging Artist Series

Designed for early career artists, this donor-funded exhibition platform curates 15–30-day group shows. The series emphasizes mentorship, visibility, and collaboration.
