Eco Queer Creature Series



Morton Fine Art is pleased to present Eco Queer Creature Series, an exhibition of ink on paper drawings by Johannesburg-based transdisciplinary visual artist Hannelie Coetzee.


On view by appointment from May 17 to June 24, 2025, at the gallery’s Washington, D.C. location (52 O St NW #302), this is Coetzee’s second solo show with Morton Fine Art.

Peculiar Matters

Brentwood Arts Exchange


The group exhibition Peculiar Matters dives into a world of found objects, reflections of time and space, and awkward landscapes. Artists Tory Cowles, Jim Doran, and Sean Riley, working in multiple disciplines, create conversations through humor, color, and sculptural constructs. Individually, each artist delivers a unique visionary narrative.

About the Exhibit


Rare Ink has partnered with DaQuane Cherry to present a curated selection of his current and new works. Fresh from his recent artist residency at Château d'Orquevaux in France, Cherry debuts the collection A NIGHT IN PARIS WITH JOSEPHINE (2025), created during his time abroad.


Rare Ink is honored to serve as an exhibiting partner, bringing to the public Moulin Rouge, Under the Moonlit Breeze, and the collection’s namesake, A Night in Paris with Josephine.


The exhibition also features works from several earlier collections, sourced from Rare Ink’s network of collectors, including THE WATER BEARER (2023), JUSTICE (2024), and THE ESSENCE OF HARLEM (2024).

May 16th - EMPATHY Sign Project Reception 5:00-8:00 PM


Around the beltway if you keep your eyes open you may notice signs that simply say "EMPATHY". They are the work of one anonymous artist with a mission to call all of us to act with more empathy. Visit the studio to see 14 pairs of the signs before they are hung in the wild and read more about the artist's intentions. 


May 18th - DIY Vintage Garden Party with Garlic Girl Vintage 


Join us to create the sustainable planter of your dreams. Garlic Girl has the vessel for you no matter your style- and the plant to go with it! Then Glass Class will teach you how to add drainage holes so your plant baby can thrive! No experience required, all supplies included. Tickets are $60 and available HERE




May 23rd - Copper Foil Stained Glass Class with guest teacher Mia of @StrangerGoodsDC


Class options are 4:00 & 6:00. Pick a piece of vintage glassware and make your own stained glass lamp shade to make a bespoke tealight lamp. No experience required, all supplies included. Tickets are $100 and available HERE




May 29th - Bottle Cutting and Button Making at Treehouse 


This class is for the crafter who likes to do it all! Bring your own bottles to cut, all other supplies and tools provided. Tickets are available HERE.




June 8th - Fold-In at the White House for Trans Rights


A fold-in is a social activation as part of Miriam Julianna's "for Eon" crane folding/storytelling project done in loving memory of activist Eon Harris Schroeder. To join, you come dressed in a monochromatic outfit ready to fold origami cranes. MJ will sort attendees to sit in a rainbow, and together we will occupy space folding cranes with the wish that trans folks be loved and accepted by the communities that surround them and the intention to make it so. 


This event is unaffiliated with World Pride but will happen alongside their March on Washington June 8th 2025. Rally point will be announced June 6th. Fill out the form HERE to receive information about the meeting point.
