Praise to the Lord for His Love and Faithfulness
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, "The Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
Psalm 92: 13-15 (NIV)

We'll meet in the Healing Center Auditorium from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Join us for our monthly potluck dinner, followed by Trivia Night!
Work with your table-mates to answer questions that pertain to life in the 60s, 70s and 80s!
Examples:
- What actor starred as The Rifleman? (Chuck Connors)
- Name Charlie's three angels. (Kelly, Sabrina, and Jill)
- During the 60's what might you see hanging from a car's rear view mirror? (fuzzy dice)
Upcoming First Friday events include the following:
October 5:
Movie Night! Won't You Be My Neighbor. A documentary about the work of Fred Rogers of PBS fame. For 31 years he subtly spread Jesus' message of being kind to others and the importance of being a good Samaritan. In the process he impacted a generation of children and changed the world.
November 2:
A retelling of the Battle of Gettysburg by Arleen Donikowski. Arleen had been employed as a Living Historical Interpreter at Gettysburg for a number of years and will be taking us on a journey to experience much of what the locals did that day.
December 7:
55+ Christmas Party!
Helpers needed for our First Friday Events!
Please consider volunteering to be a table leader, part of the Hospitality team, or a member of the clean-up crew! We'd love to have you serve with us! Contact Connie 513-671-0422 x398.

During the past few weeks at our church services, Pastor Rob has been teaching a series entitled "God at Work." Since many in our age group are no longer in the workforce, I've wondered if that has caused any of us to pause and consider how we can continue to live a life of purpose, bring God's light and love to impact those in our current circle of influence, and find contentment in whatever we put our hands to in the coming years.
Billy Graham's daughter, Anne Graham Lotz penned these following few lines that offered a simple explanation of the importance of cultivating our relationship with God. This is not a time in our lives where we should pull back from this practice, but instead we should press in. Spending time with God may prove to be our most important purpose in this season of our lives!
"The crowning jewel of Creation was man himself. He was created for a distinct purpose. If the purpose is lived out, life is fulfilling. If the purpose is rejected or ignored, life will never be what it was meant to be.
A light bulb is a simple glass globe. If placed on a desk or table, it is meaningless as well as useless. But if it is fitted into a lamp and plugged into a power source, it fulfills its purpose for existence, taking on meaning as a source of light that is useful for daily living.
Apart from the Creator's purpose, you and I are like a light bulb lying in a meaningless, useless state. We need to fit into the Creator's original design, plugging into the power source - our relationship with Him - if our lives are to be what they were meant to be."
Remember, we don't ever retire from God's service, He will continue to use us as we make ourselves available to Him.
|
|
We are excited to see what God is going to do through us, in us, and for us in this community! Remember if you're not dead, you're not done!
Please consider plugging in.
