The Children’s Hunger Project Edgewood Jr/Sr High Club had the largest team participation with 60 individuals and took awards 4 years in a row! This year, first place fastest team! Several individual first, second, and third place awards. We also had great support from an ongoing participating school, Palm Bay Elementary. Thank you to all schools that participated!
2021 5K SUCCESS!
The 6th Annual Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K attracted over 500 participants, who enjoyed a pancake breakfast, music, and plenty of fun! It was a beautiful, crisp and sunny morning, ideal for a 5K. David Brubaker of Central Brevard Sharing Center kicked off the event with a beautiful National Anthem, and Viera Charter School cheerleaders were on hand to support the runners and walkers. Participants ranging in age from nine to eighty-two received a commemorative t-shirt and finisher medal.

This event helped raise awareness of the efforts to combat child hunger by Health First, The Children’s Hunger Project and the Sharing Center of Central Brevard. With 494 in-person registrations and 17 virtual registrations, we exceeded our goal of 500 registered individuals and teams.

Many thanks to the sponsors, teams and volunteers who helped ensure our success, meaning the success for local children at risk of hunger. Click here for race results and more!
