Students were welcomed on the first day at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, setting the tone for an unforgettable week of learning, exposure, and inspiration. From that moment forward, students were immersed in real-world aviation environments that many only dream of experiencing.

Participants explored the inner workings of the airport through the Department of Aviation, gaining insight into operations management, human resources, emergency services, and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF). The experience provided a firsthand understanding of the coordination required to operate the world’s busiest airport.

The program also extended beyond the airport. Students visited US Aviation Academy and the Georgia War Museum, gaining valuable exposure to aviation training and history. Guidance from experienced professionals, including a seasoned flight instructor known as Mr. Jackson, deepened their understanding of what it takes to succeed in aviation.

Throughout the week, students were poured into by respected aviation leaders, including Jan Lennon and Delta Captain Justin Thompson, whose insights and personal journeys left a lasting impression.



Students also engaged with airport leadership, including General Manager Ricky Smith and Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Air Service Development Mrs. Diana Brown, gaining valuable perspective on aviation leadership, operations, and strategic partnerships.

One of the most impactful moments of the week came when students were interviewed by CBS News Atlanta reporter Latasha Givens.



Students shared personal stories of resilience, growth, and purpose—moments that were both emotional and empowering. Throughout the week, participants also stepped into leadership roles, mentoring and encouraging one another, strengthening a sense of community and confidence.

The week culminated in a powerful Pinning Ceremony, where students were recognized for their growth and commitment.

Student Of The Month

Congratulations to Faith Billingsley who received the Frontier Flight Award for her leadership, grace, and consistent ability to put others first. Her strong presence and etiquette made a lasting impression throughout the program.

Faith Billingsley is a disciplined, focused, and service-minded homeschooled 8th grader whose March accomplishments reflect academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to personal growth. Faith is already challenging herself beyond her grade level by taking high school-level math and science courses, along with an English 101 college course.

In March, Faith was promoted to Staff Sergeant in Civil Air Patrol, where she serves as an Element Leader for Alpha Flight. In this role, she helps manage and mentor six cadets through leadership support, drills, and uniform checks. Her promotion reflects her discipline, responsibility, and willingness to lead by example.

Faith’s passion for aviation continues to open exciting doors. She received her second Delta Air Lines scholarship to attend the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Florida, an opportunity that supports her growing interest in aviation and leadership. She was also unanimously selected by the Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta Program Directors to receive a scholarship to attend a two-week summer leadership academy.

Whether she is excelling in advanced academics, mentoring cadets, preparing for aviation opportunities, or developing as a young leader, Faith continues to demonstrate confidence, humility, and purpose. She is a shining example of what it means to work hard, lead well, and dream boldly. Faith's journey try demonstrates life lived by faith, discipline, and with determination, dreams really can take flight.
