WE'RE ALL IN UNCHARTED WATERS!
PROM IS GOING TO 2 NIGHTS!!!
Due to the current OpenTexas guidelines in place, the venue capacity for banquets and dancing is at 50%. This does not allow for our entire group to be onsite at one time. Therefore, we have had our team thinking outside the box and working with the Frisco CVB and the mayor's office to come up with some amazing and creative solutions to meet the guidelines and continue our Return to Narnia! It means stretching our leadership team quite a bit but we have great peace that it can be done - and it is going to be a great
TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS!!!
The choices are
Friday, July 17
Saturday, July 18
Both nights are 5PM-12:30AM.
For now, please start talking to your friends about which night you will attend. Once our website is ready to accept your input, we will send a new note out to everyone with instructions, but go ahead and start talking to your friends about it now.
***Once we notify you to make your selections, you will have 3 days to complete that process. So talk about it now and figure out your login to the prom website now so you are ready when the selection process goes live.
There is a maximum for each evening, so once an evening reaches its designated capacity, no more students may select that evening and will automatically be assigned to the other open evening. After all the selections have been made and the app has been updated, you'll be able to see your evening selection on your profile page in the event app, along with your ticket info, your eventual seating assignment, etc.
CHOOSE A NIGHT!!!
- Our suggestion is that if you live WEST or NORTH of the DFW Airport (i.e., Tarrant, Denton, and beyond) you select the Friday night option.
- And if you live EAST and SOUTH of the DFW Airport (Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, and beyond), the Saturday night option.
- If you live more than 100 miles from the metroplex, you may wish to retain your original night.
***These are not requirements, but we hope it will help you on the larger scale to end up with more of the students you know and are used to seeing at dance lessons and other homeschooling activities during the year.
To ease the pressure a little bit, we are extending the Transfer deadline, the Group Seating deadline, and the additional items Purchase deadline to
WHAT OTHER CHANGES WILL WE SEE?
As we have worked with the Frisco Convention and Visitor Bureau, the Mayor's Office, and the Embassy Suites team to meet requirements for gatherings, we have come up with some very helpful additions to our processes, including:
- Temperature check prior to the entering the student check-in line
- "No-contact" alterations if needed during dress check or throughout the evening
- Smaller numbers of students at each table in the ballroom
- Meal servers wearing protective equipment
- Meals being served with the cloche (plate cover) intact
- Multiple dance floors to further accommodate social distancing
- Santitizers available throughout the venue
- Constant disinfecting of high-touch areas like stair rails, door knobs, etc.
HOW WILL GROUP SEATING BE IMPACTED?
Our hope is that your whole group will all choose the same evening to attend. In the event that all of the guests in your group are not available on the same evening, you can remove them from your seating opening up a space to invite someone else. The seating reservation is linked to the HOST - so if you don't select the same night as the host, you'll need a new seating reservation.
As for the tables themselves, large groups containing 10 or more students will be assigned to two adjoining tables and the line on your event app will show the entire assignment, for example "BLUE 101-102 FRI" or "GREEN 10-11 SAT" indicating the seating zone, the table range for your group, and the day of your prom attendance.
Our Group Seating coordinator (and her parent volunteer calling team) may contact hosts to finalize their group lists and may also contact students who remain unassigned. So, we are asking you to pay attention to the details and make your seating reservations after selecting your specific prom day. If you need assistance with your group seating, please email Jill at
