The positivity rate for COVID-19 in Pinellas County on 6/16/20 was 12.1%. This spike in cases led
Mayor Kriseman to sign an executive order requiring business employees to wear masks
beginning at 5 PM tomorrow, June 19th,2020.
All businesses are required to have a COVID-19 Mitigation and Contingency Plan
The plan must be clearly communicated to patrons
Business operators must provide the plan and associated training to all employees and ensure their compliance. There are common sense exceptions for employees, for example when eating or drinking.
Non-compliant business operators will receive a municipal ordinance violation
Additional restrictions are
likely forthcoming from the cit
Pinellas County Board of Commissioners
will meet on Tuesday, June 23 at 2 PM to discuss next steps. They may vote to limit some businesses' capacity to 50 people and require consumers to wear masks in addition to employees.
