Be part of the 4th of July Parade! Parade is at 1 p.m. sponsored by the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. Parade starts at City Hall on the east end of Main Street, proceeds west, turns left at State Street, left at Bay Street and returns to end at City Hall. Click below to register.

  • Paul Revere 5K &10 Mile Run, 8 a.m. Proceeds benefit the school track and cross-country teams.

  • 4th of July Art Show, 9 am to 4 pm, Zorn Park (waterfront). 
  • 4th of July Parade, 1 pm, sponsored by the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. Parade starts at City Hall on the east end of Main Street, proceeds west, turns left at State Street, left at Bay Street, and returns to end at City Hall. Click below to sign up for the parade.

The Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking friendly, dedicated volunteers to serve as Gazebo Greeters throughout the summer. It’s a great way to connect with the community, share your love for Harbor Springs, and make a real difference in the visitor experience.


We especially need volunteers on:

Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons, and Thursdays.


Whether you’re available once a week or once a month, we’d love to have you join us! Shifts are from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, or all day if you prefer. You can read more about the role here or simply sign up for a shift that works for your schedule.

Disaster Assistance Now Available for Northern Michigan Ice Storm Recovery

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced they have granted an administrative disaster declaration for Cheboygan County and the contiguous counties of Charlevoix, Emmet, Mackinac, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle, which unlocks financial assistance to repair or replace property damaged by the historic ice storms. 


The SBA disaster assistance program provides low-interest loans for homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes, and private nonprofit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory, and business assets that were damaged or destroyed during the recent ice storm. The SBA tailors the repayment of each disaster loan to the borrower’s financial capability. Learn more at Disaster assistance | U.S. Small Business Administration.

Application Window Open For Next Class Of Leadership Little Traverse

Leadership Little Traverse is a community leadership program hosted by the Petoskey Regional and Harbor Springs Area Chambers of Commerce. The class of 2026 will be the 24th class to go through the program. Sessions begin in September 2025 and will be held monthly through May 2026. Each session is a full day in length and introduces class members to different facets of the community while helping them hone personal leadership skills.

 

This is an incredible opportunity to:

1.   Learn about the state of our community, its systems, and current issues.

2.   Develop your civic leadership skills and capacity to make an impact.

3.   Find your path and commit to doing 'community better' in the Little Traverse Bay Region.

 

The deadline to apply is July 18, 2025.

This Weekend: Kids Day At The Harbor Springs Farmers Market!

The first Kids Day of the season is this Saturday, June 21! The much anticipated bounce house, provided by Northern Michigan Bounce House Co is returning. There will also be scavenger hunts, story time, crafts, taste tests, and prizes, all for free! These extra fun family days at the market are meant to challenge kids to think about fresh food, be creative, interact with others, try new foods, and have extra fun at the farmers market! Kids are our future, so why not start the next generation of market supporters now!

Crooked Tree Arts Center - Petoskey is hosting Author Dan Egan to discuss his book, The Death and Life of the Great Lakes and The Devil's Element: Phosphorous and a World Out of Balance, Saturday, June 28th at 5:30 PM. He will be in conversation with Greg McClinchey, Legislative Affairs and Policy Director for the Great Lakes Fishery Commission to explore issues related to the ecology, culture, politics, and commerce of the Great Lakes.

New Director Of Sales And Marketing Announced At Hotel Walloon

Kayla Zondlo serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Walloon, bringing over a decade of experience in event planning, sales, and hospitality management. Northmen Den Youth Services Names New Executive Director

Northmen Den Youth Services is proud to welcome Liz McKenney as its new Executive Director. Liz brings a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, youth programming, and community engagement to the role. She began working with NDYS part-time in March, collaborating with founder, Kathy Petersen, to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition ahead of Kathy’s retirement.

Harbor Hall Announces New Chief Executive Officer

The Harbor Hall Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Barbara Weston as the organization’s new chief executive officer, effective April 7. Weston succeeds Pat McGinn, whose leadership and dedication have greatly contributed to Harbor Hall’s success in delivering high-quality substance use and mental health treatment services. Barbara Weston brings a wealth of experience, having spent 29 years in the field of substance use disorder and mental health treatment. She joins Harbor Hall from Henry Ford Brighton Center for Recovery, where she served as hospital administrator. Barbara is widely respected for her ethical leadership, patient advocacy, and team-building expertise.
