Nassau County
Bar Association

June 25, 2020

Dear NCBA Members,

NCBA LAP (Lawyer Assistance Program) Director Beth Eckhardt has been invited to become a member of the Substance Abuse and Addiction Working Group of the NYSBA Attorney Well-Being Task Force, established by current NYSBA President Scott Karson. Hon. Karen Peters, former presiding justice of the Appellate Division, Third Department, and Libby Coreno, a Saratoga Springs attorney, will co-chair the task force

The well-being of attorneys is critical to the effective practice of law, protection of the public trust, and the vibrancy of the culture of our profession all of which make this new task force of paramount importance to the New York State Bar Association.

To further this endeavor, the responsibility of this working group will be to formulate a report on the appropriate steps and resources we would recommend to be implemented statewide in order to address the concerns of substance abuse and addiction in the legal profession.

THE 2020-21 BAR YEAR IS HERE.
