Back to School Details
We know it's only June, but we wanted to go ahead and share some Back to School information for those already planning into August. Our first day of school will be Thursday, August 15. A full list of events and details for the 2019-20 school year can be found at republicschools.org/backtoschool. In addition, the school calendar can be found HERE
Online Back To School Registration Coming Soon!
Update Your Contact Information!

O ne really important element for the 2019-20 school year is that nearly all back to school forms will need to be completed online through the SISK12 Parent Portal. As a reminder, the Parent Portal is a tool that parents can use to monitor items like meal balances, grades, attendance, etc. We recommend using it throughout the school year!

Now, this tool will be used to make the back to school form process much easier and smoother for our families.  Please login to the Parent Portal and complete the needed forms beginning July 22. High school students will need to have this completed by August 1 in order to participate in the Parking Permit Pick-Up, and elementary and RMS students should have this completed by the first day of school, August 15. All kindergarten through 12th grade students must have a parent/guardian complete these required forms. Take note that specific forms must be completed for students to participate in various activities, including technology usage.

We're hoping to make sure everyone has access to and is comfortable with the Parent Portal prior to July 22 so that it is a smooth transition for parents and students into 2019-20. We invite you to take time now to make sure you can access Parent Portal and to update any outdated information listed.

To find the Parent Portal simply visit republicschools.org and click on the "Parent Portal" icon. This can also be accessed through the district's free mobile app. As a reminder, to login use the email address you have provided to the district and enter the password you have created. If you've forgotten it, simply click on the "forgot password" button and follow the prompts.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping us transition to online back to school registration!

Summer School Recap
Thank you for a wonderful summer school experience! This year we hosted 1571 students from elementary to high school. That's 323 more students than last year! We appreciate everyone who participated and also those who taught and worked to make summer school possible!
Elementary & EC Summer Hours

Take note our elementary buildings and Early Childhood Center have limited hours throughout the summer. In most cases these buildings will be closed June 24-July 18. However, we recommend you call before you visit as these dates vary per building.
Fall Kindergarten Screening, August 8
Hey, kindergarten families...We are EXCITED to welcome you to the district! A very important first step to kindergarten is screening. If your incoming kindergarten student has not yet been screened, it's not too late! We'll host a fall screening on August 8, 8:30-2:30 at Lyon for kindergarten students attending ANY building.

Please call your child's building of attendance to set an appointment and begin the enrollment process. If needed, visit http://republicschools.org/Page/1694 and follow the directions to determine which building your child will attend. If you have questions, please contact the Transportation Department at 732-3680.

Roundabout Construction & Impact to RHS Entrances
Construction of the roundabout on M Highway near the north entrance of Republic High School has begun. MoDOT has closed the RHS entrance off of M Highway and a portion of that road until the completion of construction, which we are told will be by August 9 (prior to the 2019-20 school year).

Until this proposed August 9 completion date the only functioning entrance to RHS is from ZZ Highway. This means all summer traffic will need to access RHS using the ZZ Highway entrance.

As the 2019-20 school year approaches the Republic School District will be working with MoDOT to distribute educational materials to students, employees and the community at large in regards to traffic behaviors needed to navigate the roundabout. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this construction.
Bus Drivers Wanted
We're looking for bus drivers to join our team! For more  CLICK HERE  or call 732-3680.
Change in MSHSAA Physical Exam Requirement
MSHSAA recently changed their requirement for student physicals required for activity/athletic participation. In the past those were to be completed annually. However, effective immediately, physicals are now valid for 2 years (730 days) from the date of issue. Therefore, physicals from this current school year will still be valid for the 2019-20 school year.

Take note, medical history, student agreement, parent consent, proof of insurance, concussion education and emergency contact sections of the Pre-Participation Evaluation will still need to be updated and completed by parent and students annually, prior to participation.
