Active Shooter Training
Wednesday, June 14
6:00 pm in the Sanctuary
Presentation by
Detective Anthony Bellantoni

Towards staying safe in Saint Luke's, we are pleased to invite you to a brief evening session with our local police detective Anthony Bellantoni to learn ways to respond in the rare event of a shooter in our facility. He will review our building and the best practices for hiding or escaping, and what actions to consider if you can do neither. He will be showing a short FBI video and answering your questions. We have no reason to think our facility is a target, but we realize that our country is experiencing more mass shooting events.
You are invited to attend on June 14 at 6-6:30 pm in our church sanctuary.
Special Presentation
Sunday, June 18
during Fellowship

After worship on June 18th, we'll be learning about Juneteenth, the new federal holiday observed on June 19th, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Our presenter is a student from Union Seminary, Michael Soaries, studying towards his MDiv degree. Michael grew up in Brooklyn and is excited to join us.
Summer Retreat, July 28-30, 2023
Have you ever been on a retreat? A retreat is a chance to take a outdoor break in nature, make new friends, to laugh, and refresh. Mark your calendars now for July 28-30 for our annual vacation weekend away. This year we’re at Camp Koinonia, situated on 1,200 acres of forest, with numerous facilities, surrounded by God’s creation. We’ll enjoy great food we prepare ourselves. Our Saturday program includes rafting on the gentle Delaware River. Our late afternoon is open for looking for eagles, taking walks in the woods, swimming, kayaking or canoeing. In the evening we’ll sit by the campfire. On Sunday we’ll be worshiping outdoors in the Chapel of the Pines.

Koinonia is in the Delaware River Valley. The cost is $165 per adult inclusive of rafting, all meals and accommodations, from dinner Friday through Sunday lunch. Detailed logistics will follow, regarding what to bring, transportation options and our activity schedule. Transportation will be coordinated and priced separately.
We're staying in the Family Center consisting of two adjoining cabins. Each cabin has eight bunk beds, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Conference Center hotel style accommodations are available for an extra $125 per single or per couple.
I hope you will consider joining us. To reserve your spot email Pastor. You can speak with him about a payment plan or financial assistance if necessary.
