STUDENT WINNER OF SLP SIDEWALK POETRY CONTEST | |

Congratulations to Finn Holland who submitted a poem to the St. Louis Park Sidewalk Poetry contest. He is one of this year’s winners.
The contest organizers said, "This initiative aims to celebrate and showcase the vibrant artistic community we have in our town... We received 114 poetry submissions, from over 70 local artists, both record highs! Which just demonstrates the enthusiasm for the Sidewalk Poetry Project, and the degree to which the committee was excited by your words."
His poem is going to be engraved in the Fern Hill neighborhood soon.

BULLYING, HARASSMENT, & HATE SPEECH | |

St Louis Park High School prides itself on being an inclusive community of diverse learners. It is of the utmost importance that community members conduct themselves in a manner that allows each individual to show up as their authentic selves. Creating a culture and climate of safety and care requires each of us to honor the identities of our students, staff, and families daily.
As we lean into the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of our diverse community, SLPHS would like to remind you of bullying and harassment policies 514 & 413 (see links below). This includes the use of hate speech which has no place in our SLP community. If you or others see or experience situations of bullying, harassment, or the use of hate speech, please report it immediately to high school administration.

Food or beverages are not to be taken out of the cafeteria during any lunch period.
Students will only eat in the designated cafeteria/lunch space. Once you enter the lunch space, food is not permitted to leave the space. Students are also expected to maintain all lunch spaces by cleaning after themselves in an effort to keep our grounds and cafeteria clean.

St. Louis Park High School students are expected to respect our neighbors and not litter, loiter, smoke, trespass, or act inappropriately on or near their property. Failure to do so will result in a Tier 2 intervention designed for restoration.
Parking Lot Littering
Keeping our school grounds clean is of paramount importance. We can contribute to keeping it clean by not littering in our parking lots or the surrounding areas. If students are found littering it could result in the loss of the students parking privileges. Please refer to our school’s Good Neighbor Policy, as littering also has an impact on neighbors of St. Louis Park High School.

On Wednesday, September 20th, SLPHS staff started monitoring the student and staff parking lots. Cars without proper permits were given a warning ticket. Below is a full explanation of the process and next steps:
Parking Violations and Fines:
- First Violation: Warning ticket on vehicle, meeting with student, and parent/guardian notification.
- Second Violation: $25 fine, warning ticket, visit with student and call to parent/guardian alerting them that the next offense will result in the vehicle being towed.
- Third Violation: The vehicle will be towed and/or the parking permit will be suspended or revoked. If a vehicle is towed, the student or parent/guardian can obtain towing information from the main office.
Speed Limit Guidance:
It is imperative for all cars to drive under 10 mph in our school's parking lot. Adhering to this speed limit will help ensure the safety and well-being of our students on campus. Going over the speed limit could result in ticketing or loss of parking privileges for students.

Late Activity Bus
If you have a student who rides the Late Activity Bus the High School pickup will be at 5:45 PM and the new pickup location will now be on Dakota Ave. (Street facing McDonalds). Please make sure that your student is aware of this change.
Also, please remind your student that the late activity bus DOES NOT drop them off at their normal bus stop. The Late Activity Bus has HUB stops. Attached will be a list of those stops and the students should get off at whichever stop is closest to home.

The enthusiasm for her work does not go unnoticed. The work she does truly makes our schools and community a better place”. Students in Personal Financial Management have been growing their Investing Skills by playing the Stock Market Game. This game follows the real stock market and gives them a FAKE $100,000 to invest and see how they can make their money work for them! Here are a few of our class weekly winners! | |
As we wrap up our Investing unit, these students know their money can work for them when they invest in funds, such as, part of the S&P 500 they created in the hallway.

Exam Dates: Tuesday, October 24 & Wednesday October 25
Exam Time: 8:25 AM
Exam Location: SLP Central (district) Office
Directions: 6300 Walker Street, St. Louis Park.
An email was sent on 10/3/23 to parents and students with specific details regarding-date/time/location.
Students: Please plan to bring your FULLY CHARGED CHROMEBOOK, a pencil/pen and, if desired, water and a snack. You will be using the BLUEBOOK app on your chromebook (preloaded by SLP). Before you test we will lead you through a digital readiness check.
The exam will take approximately 2.5 hours. You are expected to resume your normal schedule at the high school after the exam. Please plan accordingly.

Advanced Placement Exam Registration
If your student is currently enrolled in an AP Course at SLP, they’ve made a great choice. AP classes are rigorous and engaging; scoring well on AP exams may allow them to earn college credit, advanced placement or both, possibly saving them time and money in their post-secondary education.
AP exams are given in May. If your student would like to take the AP Exam they need to register and pay for the exam by November 3rd.
