Greetings!
Tomorrow we will celebrate the great civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As we strive to be an anti-racist school community our charge is to empower all stakeholders to challenge systems, policy, and processes that do not serve all students and families. The ability to lean into discomfort and imagine the possibilities of what we want SLPHS to be and how we operationalize our work in actualizing the mission, vision, and core values of St. Louis Park Public Schools. This work takes a collaborative effort where students and families are co-creators of the school experience and where all students and families are seen, valued, and heard. So I challenge you to imagine the possibilities as we empower each other to live in each other’s brilliance in creating equity and inclusion for all.

ACTION NEEDED-Appropriate Masking |
|
Our SLPHS community has observed concerning behavior with regards to students and masking. As COVID 19 cases continue to increase, we need to remind students and families that all students, staff and community members are expected to be masked as determined by SLP School Board policy when inside district buildings and on buses except when eating in designated lunch areas. As a reminder, your mask must cover your nose, mouth and chin at all times. Please help us keep our community safe against COVID 19.
NOTE: Staff will use a tiered-intervention approach with students that are found to be inappropriately masked and/or refuse to follow reasonable redirects. These interventions may include but are not limited to redirection, parent phone calls and/or meetings, student contracts, up to exclusion from the learning environment for students that have demonstrated chronic refusal to mask appropriately.
SLPHS is committed to keeping our students, staff and community safe from COVID 19 to the best of our ability. Please help us by having a conversation with students about the importance of masking.

2nd Semester PARKING PERMITS |
|
Student parking permits will be sold online for 2nd semester starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18. Students will need to complete the Google Form at https://bit.ly/SLPparking indicating the desire for a parking permit. Permits will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis and historically sell out quickly.
On Monday, January 24 at 8 a.m. students will be notified that they have been assigned a parking permit. At that time, payments can be made online (preferred). The link will be provided in a confirmation email. Permits are $50 per semester. If payment is not submitted by Monday, January 31 at 8:00 a.m., they will be released to anyone on the waiting list.
Once purchased, please print a receipt and have your student bring it to the Main Office to pick up their parking permit. Students will need to have past due media center and instructional materials returned, and present a valid driver’s license to receive their permit. Vehicles without permits are subject to being towed. ORIOLES’ NEST: After Hours
Are you looking for homework help, a place to study or a chance to earn a credit? The Orioles’ Nest is the place for you! The Orioles’ Nest is an after school academic support program that is open to all students.
When and Where?
The Nest will occur on most Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30pm - 5:30pm in the Learning Lab. Please check Student Support Time for the calendar.

All sessions are at 7:00 p.m. and will last approximately 45-60 minutes.
Participants can ask questions in the chat.
Participants who attend 4 out of 5 sessions will be eligible to win a $500 scholarship!
These sessions are a collaborative effort between the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota Department of Education, ECMC The College Place and Minnesota Goes to College.
