IMPORTANT DATES

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

February is a time of reflection, celebration, and engagement! As we honor Black History Month, we uplift the voices, stories, and achievements of Black leaders, past and present. At St. Louis Park Schools, our mission, vision, and core values center on equity and inclusion, ensuring that each student feels seen, valued, heard, and empowered. This month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a school community where Black excellence is celebrated and where students learn from the resilience and brilliance of those who have shaped our world.

On February 10, we invite you to participate in National African American Parent Involvement Day, recognizing the essential role of families in education. Your engagement makes a lasting impact, and we look forward to celebrating with you.

We’re also incredibly proud of our theatre students for advancing to state with their one-act play, Kodachrome! Their dedication and creativity exemplify the excellence we strive for every day. Let’s cheer them on as they take the stage!

Finally, a reminder that registration for the 2025-26 school year will be taking place soon. Be sure to review our course offerings and pathways with your student to prepare for another year of growth, learning, and community.

Thank you for being a part of our school family!

Take care, be well, and GO PARK!

CLEARING UP THE CONFUSION ABOUT STANDARDIZED TESTING: HOW TESTING BENEFITS STUDENTS

There are a variety of beliefs about standardized tests.  Movements across the country have encouraged families to opt out without understanding the impact it has on students and schools. Ultimately, we believe these tests provide vital information on how the district as a whole is or is not providing rigorous instruction for all students.

We encourage SLP families to continue their learning and understanding about standardized tests.  To find out more information please visit our website LINK here.
