St. Louis Park High School GRADUATION
Date & Time:
When: Thursday, June 5th at 5:00 PM sharp (Arrive early!)
Where: Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota
What to know: Only graduates and their invited ticketed guests will be able to attend the ceremony this year, due to limited capacity at the venue.
Graduating Seniors must take the bus to the Northrop Auditorium, from SLP High School, for rehearsal and preperations, on June 5th at 1:30pm. Graduates may depart from Northrop however they choose -- we will have buses available to return to SLP High School at 7:15pm after the ceremony.
Doors will open at 4:30pm. No entry without a ticket.
More information regarding parking and entry at the venue will be sent to seniors and their families tomorrow, May 16th.

Seniors' Final Week
Seniors, we would like to acknowledge the last few days of your 2025 graduating year is coming to a close. This week should be one of reflection, celebration, and Park PRIDE. We understand that seniors partake in many traditions throughout the school year as a right of passage to adulthood. As we head into our finals day at Park, we would like to remind seniors that fun also comes with the responsibility to engage in traditions safely and respectfully.
As a reminder, the following ensure that our SLPHS community remains a safe respectful space:
- Be respectful of your peers, school property, & grounds to include the neighboring community.
- Safe and attentive driving in the parking lots and school grounds is expected.
- Replica guns to include toy/water guns are strictly prohibited on campus. Not adhering to this policy would result in students being removed from our commencement ceremony.
- Safe and responsible behavior during dismissal time (ie walking and staying clear of bus & vehicles leaving for parent/student pick-up).
- This is a friendly reminder that the senior tradition of water balloons is no longer permitted.
We are committed to making graduation a positive, inclusive, and safe event for all our students and their families. Our goal is to celebrate the incredible journey and accomplishments of each graduate without distractions or disruptions.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Let’s make this a wonderful day to remember for every family and graduate. We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2025 and eagerly await the opportunity to celebrate together.

Beryany Pirela is a 2025 ABF Grant Recipient!
Congrats to Beryany Pirela, a 9th grader, who was awarded a $1,000 grant through the Ann Bancroft Foundation to pursue her passion for music and take private voice lessons. ABF supports girls so they can live their dreams and imagine something bigger through grants, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities. ABF envisions a world in which all girls have a chance to live their dreams and reach their full potential.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY
The St. Louis Park High School National Honor Society held their 24-25 Induction Ceremony on Friday, May 23rd. We had an amazing turnout with many families attending, as well as just under 150 inductees. In order to be inducted, students must fulfill GPA or teacher recommendation requirements, stay in strong academic standing, and also fulfill 20-30 hours of community service and three NHS group projects over the course of the year.
Students and families gathered to enjoy breakfast, hear about highlighted service projects from the year, and then induct both Juniors and Seniors who fulfilled the requirements for NHS.
Students are invited to NHS in the fall of their Junior or Senior year. Invitations go out to students and parents in September of each year, and students can then choose if they want to continue to fulfill the requirements that lead to induction in the spring.

Let’s beautify the Door 15 entrance (aka, athletic entrance) for our students and visitors – June 12 @ 6 PM at the High School.
We’re inviting parents, guardians, neighbors, and friends of St. Louis Park High School to come together for a hands-on volunteer event to help beautify the area around Door 15.
What We’ll Be Doing:
- Planting fresh shrubs around the entrance
- Clearing dead grass and weeds from the nearby rock bed
- Picking up litter along Dakota Avenue and the southern parking lot by Door 15
When: Thursday, June 12 at 6:00 PM
Time Commitment: 15 min- 2 hours
Where: Meet at Door 15, St. Louis Park High School
Please bring gloves, a shovel, or garbage picker and any tools you think might help. We’ll provide garbage bags and plenty of community spirit!
Your time and effort will make a visible difference — and we can’t do it without you. Let’s enjoy some time outdoors and work together to make our school shine!

SUMMER SEWING PROJECT?
Looking for a summer sewing project? Our Physical Education Department is looking for a parent that sews who can repair our polyester parachutes that are used for DAPE classes (developmental & adaptive physical education). Our scope and reach is growing and we could use some additional volunteers. Join us to help support our high school community by sharing your time in one of these roles, including:

Fundraising Lead(s) - Help promote the annual fall fundraiser by refreshing last year’s correspondence, confirming timelines and thanking donors. Estimated time commitment is 2 hours per month in September, October and November.

Technology Lead - Provide support to PEAC team to ensure technology can be best used to communicate with parents/guardians and support the work of PEAC. Estimated time commitment is as needed.

Weekly Newsletter Article Coordinator - Draft weekly newsletter article highlighting PEACinitiatives, which is included in the 6425 weekly newsletter. Estimated time commitment is 30 minutes per week.

Coffee with the Principal Coordinator - Help secure dates and confirm the agenda for 3 Coffees with the Principal; pick up coffee and attend each meeting. Estimated time commitment is 2 hours per meeting.

Co-Chair Elect - Work with co-chairs to learn roles and responsibilities of the PEAC Co-Chair position. Estimated time commitment is 1 hour per month.

CART ART IN THE PARK CONTEST
Through the new Cart Art in the Park contest, members of the St. Louis Park community are able to submit original artwork that reflects the theme of organics recycling to be displayed on organics carts at multifamily drop-sites.
Residents living in apartments, townhomes and condos can use these carts to dispose of their food scraps instead of throwing them in the trash. Food scraps are then composted, and the resulting compost can be used to create nutrient-rich soil for gardening and landscaping.

The winning artwork will be displayed as a two-dimensional, 11-inch by 17-inch decal on organics carts at the 11 multifamily organics drop-sites located throughout the city for a minimum of one year.
Your art could inspire more residents to sign up for city organics programs and divert their food scraps from the garbage!
