Reminder students need to be picked up by 3:30 PM after school or they will be asked to wait outside of door 1 and will not be allowed back into the building.
- Once students leave the building they will not be allowed back in the building past 3:25.
- All students in after school activities are expected to be at their supervised activities by 3:25 PM.
- All other students are expected to be picked up and out of the building by 3:30 PM.

We are walking in a winter wonderland towards the 2023 SnoDaze Dance. Join your fellow snow-people in the field house on Saturday, February 11th from 7 to 10 pm. Students must follow all school guidelines and expectations. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. There will be no re-entry. We will not take cash or sell tickets at the door. You MUST buy in advance by noon on Friday, February 10th. To bring a non-SLP guest, students must have the guest form signed and turned in by Tuesday, February 7th to the main office.

Ms. Alison Recommends… “The First to Die at the End” by Adam Silvera. This book is the prequel for They Both Die at the End. The two boys meet right before the first Death Cast calls go out at midnight, where you learn if you will die that day. One gets a call and one doesn’t. What is PSEO?
PSEO stands for Post-Secondary Enrollment Options, and is a program that allows high school students in grades 10, 11 & 12 to take college courses for free. These courses provide students an opportunity to earn college credits while also meeting their high school graduation requirements. For more information, please attend one of these meetings.

NEW DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL
COMING IN 2024

What can students expect in the new dining experience once it’s complete in 2024? The renovated kitchen will ensure that we can cook healthy and delicious cooking on-site, offer a fresh salad bar or veggie bar, have seasonally fresh produce, taste testing, and training from professional chefs. The redesign will also include expanded seating capacity, new furniture, and fewer lunch sections to make the whole day run more smoothly.
Cold Bento Box Meals During Construction - Starting September, 2023. Note that the Jan 31 SLP Communicator incorrectly stated that the cold bento box meals would begin in March. We want to make high school families aware that the kitchen redesign is a major construction project that will disrupt the regular lunch schedule at the high school for about 18 months, beginning in September, 2023. During this time, students will eat meals in the activity center and we will only be able to offer cold bento box options for breakfast and lunch. Examples of cold bento box meals include sandwiches, wraps, and salads that come with fresh whole fruit and veggies. The bento box meals will be satisfying portions that will be prepared and assembled at the kitchen at the Central building, the satellite kitchen for the High School during the renovation. FREE BOILER OPERATOR LICENSE CLASS

Adult Options In Education (a community education consortium partner of Hopkins, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and Wayzata Public Schools), in partnership with St. Louis Park Public Schools and its Facilities department, will host a new and exciting pilot opportunity for up to 15 individuals (10 spots made available to the district and 5 available to the SLP public) interested in obtaining a Boiler Operator License. This joint venture will allow our district custodial staff, onsite training and development to pursue and obtain this required level of licensure. This opportunity is free and open to the public until all seats are filled, class begins on Monday, January 30, 2023.

POLICY 506 STUDENT BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION PROCEDURES DEVELOPMENT TEAM | |

Background: On Aug. 10, 2021, the St. Louis Park Public Schools School Board unanimously approved and updated Policy 506 Student Behavior Intervention (formerly Student Discipline) to align with the mission and vision of the 2020-25 Strategic Plan for Racial Equity Transformation, reduce exclusionary practices that are highly punitive and racially predictable, include the use of non-exclusionary behavior interventions such as Restorative Practices, and center the humanity of students. A team will convene to develop procedure recommendations.
Purpose: Create procedure recommendations that embody the restorative commitments of Policy 506 and the mission/vision of St. Louis Park Public Schools.
Scope: Research, best practices (Restorative Practices and trauma-informed practices as two examples), and input from stakeholders will inform the work. Team members are expected to understand the current policy, and encourage the engagement, input, and feedback of all stakeholders. Team members will develop a recommendation that supports our district mission to see, inspire, and empower each learner to live their brilliance in an environment that centers student voice and experience to create racially equitable learning that energizes and enhances the spirit of our community.
