This month we celebrate Women’s History and their contributions to society. I am grateful for the women that came before me and paved the way for me to actualize my brilliance. I honor those that dedicated themselves to creating equitable spaces for women to be valued, seen, and heard.

Please help in showing gratitude and appreciation for our SLP team of School Social Workers. Your work in meeting the social-emotional needs of students is crucial in educating and addressing mental health & wellness.

On Thursday, March 2 students were able to visit with over 100 college representatives from across the US and even one from London!  

Huge shoutout to our NTA (Non Traditional Academy) students for their help in setting up and taking down all the tables and chairs. We very much appreciated their help!

The School Nutrition Department has made some changes to the vending machines at the high school.

Now families will need to create a 4-digit pin for their students to use the vending machines. Students will still need to scan their student ID card with the 4-digit security pin.

You will need to create the 4-digit pin with your Wordware meal account. A family will be able to change their 4 digits pin if they feel that they need to do so. Click here on the link for step-by-step instructions.

On Wednesday, March 8th we will be proctoring the ACT test for all juniors at the High School. 11th grade students should plan to arrive at the high school by 8:15AM in order to be in their assigned space by 8:25AM and ready to begin the test.

Students should dress comfortably and come prepared by eating a good breakfast and getting a good night’s sleep. The ACT is online, students should bring their fully charged chromebook to school. All standard testing rooms will have fewer than 20 total students and up to 3 staff to proctor the exam.

Transportation and Asynchronous Learning for Wednesday, March 8th

Wednesday, March 8th is an asynchronous learning day for all students in grades 9, 10, and 12. All students in grade 11 will be in the building taking the ACT test. Students learning asynchronously should plan to check Schoology for work to complete during the day. The Orioles’ Nest will be open for students who wish to complete their asynchronous learning from the building. Students selecting this option should use the Student Support Time app to sign-up.

All buses will run their normal routes on Wednesday morning. Once the ACT test is complete, all students who have ordered a grab and go lunch can pick it up in the HS Cafe, and buses will depart from the high school no later than 12:50PM and will follow the hub stop activity routes. The afternoon drop-off routes are as follows:

If your student will be taking the bus home, please ensure they know which stop is closest to your home address.

Are you getting enough sleep? It's recommended that teenagers get 9-12 hours of sleep each night. Getting adequate sleep reduces stress, restores our immune system, boosts our mood, and improves memory. Sleeping well is even associated with better grades and increased energy throughout the day. If you are a student, sleep is an especially important part of your education!

Our substitute teacher partner, Teachers on Call, is hiring exceptional people who would like to be substitute teachers!  Are you wondering what becoming a substitute teacher entails? Becoming a sub requires a license through the state of Minnesota (requires bachelor’s degree or higher). You can still join if you are not licensed yet. Summer Learning Academy is a free program that promotes student growth and exposes learners to social and emotional development and cultural awareness through the engagement of academics,

enrichment and physical activities. Learners will also be exposed to on-site and off-site field

trip/experiential learning to enhance the overall summer experience.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation and activities will start at 6 p.m. Kindergarten Welcome is a great opportunity for 2023-24 kindergarten families to meet your school's principal and teachers, explore your school building, enjoy fun activities, learn about before- and after-school programming, and complete your enrollment process.
