PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we step into the heart of the fall season, I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a restful and joyful Fall Break. This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to recharge, spend quality time with loved ones, and appreciate the beauty of the season.

Fall is also a season of gratitude and community, and I am so thankful for the incredible energy our students and families bring to our school. Let’s continue to nurture a spirit of joy and togetherness. Your partnership and support make SLPHS a truly special place.  Enjoy your Fall Break!

Take care, be well, and GO PARK!

NEW METHOD FOR REPORTING STUDENT ABSENCES

Coming in December: New method for reporting student absences!

Starting Monday, December 9th, St. Louis Park High School will be updating its attendance procedure to make it more convenient for parents and guardians to excuse students. While the attendance line at 952-928-6045 will remain available, parents and guardians will be able to report student absences by emailing hsattendance@slpschools.org.

This change will replace the Google form, which will be deactivated on December 9th. Please ensure that emails come from a parent or guardian's email address listed in the student’s contacts in Powerschool. This update will streamline the attendance process and align with the attendance reporting methods used by our other schools in the district. We appreciate your cooperation in adopting this new system.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

STUDENTS PERFORMING AT STAGES THEATER COMPANY

We’re thrilled to share that two of our talented students, Henry Halverson and Vivian Nielsen, are performing this holiday season in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at Stages Theatre Company! This beloved TV classic-turned-musical brings the cherished characters, misfits, and songs of the original to life on stage. Audiences adore this festive tradition, and Henry and Vivian are a big part of its magic. Their dedication, energy, and passion for the arts shine brightly, and we’re so proud of the amazing people they’ve become. Thank you for your role in shaping such incredible young artists!

GRADUATION 2025 UPDATES/CHANGES

Families,

We are excited to announce that the Class of 2025 graduation ceremony will take place at 5pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Northrop Carlson Family Stage (University of Minnesota). Students in grades 9-11 will have a half-day of school on June 5 to account for student and staff attendance. The last full day of school for grades 9-11 is June 6th. Seniors last day of school will be May 30th.

We know our families look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion, and we want to ensure a beautiful venue to celebrate our graduates. This decision was made because of the construction at the SLPHS Stadium that is starting in April 2025.

Additionally, because of the venue change, a set number of tickets will be distributed. Tickets are required for families to attend the ceremony.  More details regarding the distribution of tickets, the graduation program, and the adjusted school schedule will be shared in the coming months.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support as we prepare for this exciting celebration!
