The first “Coffee with the Principal” is December 14 from 2:00 - 2:30. This is a great time to engage with the principals to get your questions answered. Watch in the next 2 weeks for a Zoom link.

CONFERENCE THANK YOU

A big THANKS to so many generous parents who brought treats last week while Staff engaged in conferences. It means so much and is a beautiful sign of gratitude as we enter Thanksgiving week.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT THE SCHOOL

We’re looking to recruit a few volunteers to assist with copying. If you are interested, please email Abby Schrader schrader.abby@slpschools.org and she can work with you on specific dates, times and needs.

ORCHESTRA COFFEE FUNDRAISER:

The orchestra is wrapping up their annual coffee fundraiser. If you are looking to stock up on coffee or know coffee drinkers, the orchestra gets 30% for every purchase. Money will be used as they travel to San Diego in April and have ongoing SLPHS instrument and music expenses.

You can choose any student to receive the 30% towards trip expenses or choose Kou Lee (orchestra teacher) and it will go towards the whole orchestra.

Senior Party Planning Committee

ZOOM PALS PROGRAM

Students from St. Louis Park High School had the opportunity to connect with students from Colombia this month. Students from Spanish classes had a one-on-one meeting via Zoom with students from school Policarpa Salavarrieta in Colombia. They learned about this unique farming school and shared about their lives in Minnesota. Spanish Club Students had a similar experience with students from the English Club from UNAD, a Colombian University. They had a wonderful experience sharing their lifestyles, interests, future plans, and cultures.

Spanish Club meets the third Thursday of each month from 3:20-4:20 pm with a different theme each month.

Does your trackpad not work? Is your battery not holding charge? Are you not able to use your keyboard? Please bring your Chromebook to the Media Center and we will put it in for repair. You will get a loaner Chromebook and will be notified by email when yours is ready to pick up.

AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTS

St. Louis Park Public Schools will send COVID test kits home with ALL students and staff ahead of Thanksgiving break

Rest, relaxation, and time to connect with family and friends is coming soon to St. Louis Park Public Schools students, families, and staff with No School K-12 from November 23-25. As we enter the winter season, we are seeing the combination of COVID, influenza, the common cold, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) significantly impact the health of students and staff.

District leaders are looking ahead with your health in mind… We are taking steps to increase our cleaning protocol and are strongly recommending that students and staff resume masking. We will also be distributing COVID tests districtwide.

To keep our schools and buildings safe after the break, we strongly encourage all students and staff to test for COVID before returning to school on November 28 or if symptoms appear anytime during the week of the 28th, regardless of vaccination status.

We are excited to announce that St. Louis Park Public Schools is in a position to assist families and staff with this request. Next week, students and staff members will be sent home with two COVID tests.
