PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

St. Louis Park High School Students and Families,

Welcome to semester two! Let's approach our academics with a mindset that embraces challenges, leans into individual and collective strengths, and sees opportunities for learning and growth. Take time to celebrate achievements throughout this new semester.

February is Black History Month. This is a time to recognize, honor, and celebrate the rich heritage, achievements, and contributions of African Americans. Throughout the month, students will be hosting various school-wide activities commemorating this important part of our nation's history. On February 12th, we will observe National African American Parent Involvement Day. This day, held annually on the second Monday of February, serves as a reminder of the critical role our parents play in supporting student success.

Registration at SLPHS for the 24/25 school year begins this month. Students will participate in an electives fair where core content and elective teachers provide information to inform student course selections. Join our counseling team on February 7th for our virtual grade level registration night. This night is intended to guide families through the registration process.

We are off to a great start this semester.

Take care, be well, and GO PARK!

LaNisha Paddock

Principal

SENIORS GRADUATING THIS SPRING:

DIESEL MECHANIC

Opportunity for Seniors who are interested in being a diesel mechanic and graduating in this spring.

The Ziegler Apprenticeship Program offers paid, on-the-job training with no prior experience or education required. As a Technician Apprentice, students will build their skillset through hands-on and classroom training over the course of the 12-month program, and receive full time pay and benefits. The goal at the completion of the training period is for all apprentices to earn a rewarding career as a diesel repair technician at the Ziegler branch near them. This may be a great opportunity for Seniors who are interested in being a diesel mechanic and graduating in this spring.

Please see the attached flyer for more information and qualifications. Feel free to spread the word and please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks! Joan
