1: From the Interim Principal
|
|
Greetings SLP Parents,
Our second evening of conferences is Tuesday, March 23, and there are many open appointment times. All families were sent a link on March 12 from “HS Student Connections@ slpschools.org” to sign up for virtual conferences. In case you couldn’t attend on Thurs., March 18, you have another chance to talk with your student’s teachers. We hope you will join us virtually from the comfort of your own home.
|
|
- If your student must miss class (both online or in person) due to illness, appointments or other reasons, please call the Attendance Line at 952-928-6045. If possible, please clearly spell your students LAST NAME.
-
If your student was marked absent but attended class (either in-person or online), please have your student email their teacher to make the correction. More Attendance Guidelines.
On April 12, all students who have opted to attend school in person will attend all classes four days a week. As we transition to that day, here are some things you need to know:
Starting Monday, March 22, we will be teaching our regular 7 period day and Park Connections.
We will no longer be having synchronous and asynchronous classes every other day; instead, we are embedding synchronous instruction and asynchronous work time within each class period.
Distance learners may stay on the Zoom link the entire period, but each teacher will let distance learners know when they are able to jump off the link and work independently, while in-person students work within the classroom.
If you do not wish to have your student attend school in-person, 4 days a week, starting April 12, you may move your student from In-Person learning to finish out the year as a Distance Learner (Cohort C), by completing this form-CLICK HERE FOR FORM or for any questions contact KIKI CHRISTENSEN at christensen.kirsten@slpschools.org no later than Friday, April 9, 2021.
Distance Learners(Cohort C) families who would like to move to attend school in-person will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will begin on April 12th. Contact KIKI CHRISTENSEN at christensen.kirsten@slpschools.org no later than Friday, April 9, 2021.
In addition, for both these transitions, we will be following the new guidance regarding physical distancing. From page 21 of the Safe Learning Plan of 2020-2021 provided from the MN Department of Education, it states, “For middle and high schools only: Scholars must maintain six feet of physical distance from one another throughout the school day whenever feasible; when six feet of distancing cannot be met, a minimum of three feet of physical distance between students must be maintained.” In most classrooms, we will be unable to keep scholars 6 feet apart when attending 4 days a week.
Enjoy this beautiful weekend and Stay Safe!
Kindly,
Wendy Loberg
Interim Principal

|
|
A Message from Health Services Regarding COVID-19
In an effort to keep our community’s COVID-19 spread down, the District will continue to follow guidelines set in place by the Minnesota Department of Health. Although COVID-19 rates are decreasing, Hennepin County continues to have high levels of community transmission (defined by the Minnesota Department of Health as greater than 10 cases per 10,000).
Students should not come to school if they are ill or if anyone in their household is ill. The District continues to follow a 10 day isolation period for individuals with illness symptoms and a 14 day quarantine for those exposed to COVID-19 or exposed to an ill household member.
We ask that student illness symptoms are reported to the school health office: 952-928-6108. Health office staff will review exclusion guidance and determine isolation and/or quarantine dates. The illness exclusion document that is used in our schools can be viewed here.
Free COVID testing locations can be found here.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students, staff, and community safe.
