Greetings Park Students and Families!
I hope you had a lovely long weekend and were able to find time to rest and relax! As we return to school this week, we will review expectations and agreements that we have established as a community. Educators & students will focus on high expectations both academically and socially. We know that holding high expectations for each member of our community leads to high levels of achievement. And high levels of achievement allows us to live in our brilliance.

Truancy & Tardiness
SLPHS has observed an increased amount of tardiness on behalf of students. Students are expected to be in class on time, every period, every day in order to maximize instructional time. 
 
NOTE: Staff have received multiple reports of students arriving late to class with food from outside the building. Students stopping for food at McDonald’s or any other fast food restaurant before the school day are expected to be in class on time and may not take their food into the classroom.
Food Outside of Cafeteria & Spaces Designated for Lunch
This is a friendly reminder that all food should remain in the cafeteria or designated lunch spaces. Students are prohibited from eating and drinking in hallways and classrooms unless otherwise directed. This allows staff to properly contact trace in the event of a positive case of COVID.

Picture Retakes Rescheduled
Picture Retake Rescheduled for Monday, November 8th

November 8th is the rescheduled Lifetouch picture retake day. We will be receiving the purchased packages soon and will send them home with your student. 
Orchestra News
Congratulations to senior violinist Fiona Petrie on being selected as a member of the NAfME All-Nationals Honors Orchestra. These students represent some of the top high school players in the Nation. To qualify, students must audition and be accepted as an All-State player first then for re-audition for All-Nationals. This is the second year Fiona has been selected.

Theory of Knowledge Exhibition
Students taking Theory of Knowledge explore questions about knowledge and the world. Their first major assessment requires students to choose objects and explain how they address knowledge questions. Check out this slideshow to see the students along with their objects and questions.

Winter Sports Registration NOW OPEN
Winter Registration is now OPEN!!!

Student will need an up to date valid sport physical on file with the Athletic Office. 
The sport physical needs to be valid through April 2022 (Physical is valid for 3 years)
