23/24 SLPHS student and family handbook is now available on the SLP website.

We ask that all students and families to review and sign the acknowledgement using the link in the handbook on page 2.

Counselors are still working through the Schedule Change Request Form for students who are dealing with schedule issues. The link is posted on the Powerschool Login page as well as below.

Due to the high volume of changes, students can expect to get a response within 2-3 school days. They should follow their current schedule until they get an email confirming whether or not their change was processed.

Free School Meals for Kids Program in SLP

Beginning July 1, 2023, state legislation approved the Free School Meals for Kids Program. Each student will receive one free breakfast and lunch daily. For meals to qualify for the Free School Meals for Kids Program, students will need to follow the guidelines detailed below or they will need to use funds from their student meal account.

Breakfast

• Students must choose at least 3 items to be counted as a reimbursable meal.
• Breakfast must include a ½ cup serving of fruit or vegetable as part of their breakfast.

Lunch

• Students must choose at least 3 components to be counted as a reimbursable meal.
• Lunch must include a choice of a ½ cup serving of fruit or vegetable.

A la carte

• A la carte items are considered any additional items beyond the school provided meal, this includes seconds or additional milk.
• Purchase of a la carte items will require students to maintain funds in their meal account to cover the cost of these items.
• Purchases (such as milk) by students who bring a home lunch will be charged as an a la carte item.

Account Balance

Returning students may still have a balance in their account. Students may use the remaining balance to purchase a la carte items (at elementary schools this includes extra milk or additional meal items such as fruits and vegetables; at secondary schools there are additional a la carte choices). Additionally, remaining balances would remain with students to be used as they advance to the middle and high school. Students who have more than $10 in their meal account can contact Jodie Woelffer to receive reimbursement. Alternatively, families can donate funds to cover the cost of accumulated unpaid meal balances. To donate all or a portion of your student’s meal balance, contact Jodie Woelffer. School Nutrition does not accept cash or checks on the serving line for purchase of a la carte items. If you would like to add funds to your student’s account, please deposit funds electronically into the Family Meal Account. Access your Family Meal Account through PowerSchool to add these funds.

Our school offers healthy meals each day. Starting school year 2023-24, we are joining Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program. All students can get one breakfast and one lunch free of charge each day at school. Although no application is required to receive this free meal benefit, filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still important!

How to Apply



The application can be filled out in a number of different ways including online through your Wordware or PowerSchool account, or by filling out a paper copy.

After the form has been submitted, the Library Media Center Staff will email the student and set up an appointment for them to come down at a certain day/time to get an ID.

*If a student still has their 22-23 St.Louis Park High School ID's then they do not need to get another ID because it still valid. Please see School Pictures for more information.

For all home High School athletic events where admission is charged:

• Any child in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a paying adult who is responsible for them, their behavior and their whereabouts at the event.  The student must be in the bleachers unless with the accompanying adult.  
• No bags, backpacks or outside food/drink will be allowed in at home football games and there will be no reentry.  
• All tickets must be purchased electronically, either in advance, or at the event. There will be no cash options available. No refunds.
• For football, admission will stop at the end of the third quarter.

Due to construction and for the safety of all students and families we are asking that all parents/caregivers utilize the 33rd/Georgia entrance to pick up their child during dismissal. This will help eliminate additional traffic on 33rd St. and will also prevent students from running in between buses and across the street to find their families. A map of the parent pick-up directions has also been included. Thank you for your cooperation!

The PSAT is great prep for the SAT & ACT, but it's more than just practice. PSAT scores can qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships.

Parent Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) MIssion:

• Student incentives (especially needed early in year) for staff to leverage as they catch kids doing good. Best things to contribute:

PEAC support! We are always looking for extra help: 

• 501(c)3 status - apply for status to make PEAC a non-profit with even greater flexibility to serve the school community - (one volunteer in place. If you have expertise in this area, please consider helping out!)
• Staff Appreciation Week - lead a luncheon and snacks early in May ~ 2-3 hours
• Graphics Designer - help PEAC come up with a logo and possible website content from time to time

Pop Your Trunk Flea Market

Don't miss a chance to sell your wares at the Pop Your Trunk Flea Market in the parking lot at Lenox Community Center!  The cost is $15 per space - each space consists of two parking spaces wide by one parking space long. Registering today for your spot. Line up will start at 7am in the upper parking lot.  At 8am we will begin assigning spaces and cars can enter to set up their space. You will receive more information the week of the event.
