1: From the Interim Principal
Hello SLP Families,

Spring Break is here and our students are thrilled! They have endured an incredible year so far and we are so proud of them. Not only have they continued to navigate a global pandemic, Zoom classes, masks, social distancing, and quarantines, they have witnessed so much violence and loss in this world.  

Below are several links to resources that I hope you will find helpful as you talk with your teen/s and help them process all that is happening in their lives right now.  


Opening statements and the commencement of the Derek Chauvin trial begin soon, with an anticipated verdict in mid to late April, and we are preparing to provide a safe space for students and staff who may wish to process feelings, thoughts and questions in the coming weeks as the trial progresses. Please continue to follow all the Covid safety protocols so we are able to continue with our plan to return students to school in a safe manner. Have a wonderful spring break!

Meal pickup schedule:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays 11:45am-12:45pm

Breakfast and lunch is available for students in the building daily. All meals are free for students!

6: Questions/Concerns about your child's chemical use?
St Louis Park has recently entered into a relationship with Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. What started as grant-based support has turned into them still supporting the schools in surrounding communities. They are providing a Chemical Health Educator and Prevention Specialist to us at SLPHS. Cindy Doth has the ability to meet with students and families.
 
Appropriate students to receive support meetings with Hazelden Betty Ford Staff:
  • Chemical use and related mental health issues impact daily functioning
  • Social, recreational, employment, or educational difficulties
  • Interpersonal relationships deteriorating
  • Home life disrupted
  • Repeated offenses with substance use other than nicotine
  • Self-identify as having difficulties with substances
  • Involvement in legal system
  • Substance use and involved in sports (in or off season)
  • Parent expresses concerns
7: Join a PSEO Information Session
PSEO means:
* Taking college classes while still in high school.
* No tuition for classes.
* Earn high school and college credit.
If you are interested in applying to a College's PSEO Program, you MUST attend one information session.

Even in a distance learning/hybrid format, we have Post-Secondary representatives, Career Options, Virtual Campus visits, and Informative Recordings that are and will become available.

These options host live or recorded zoom meetings. This is a great time to learn about:
Different post-secondary institutions.  
Different Career Programs.
Virtual tours opportunities.

11: News from Health Services
A Message from Health Services Regarding COVID-19

In an effort to keep our community’s COVID-19 spread down, the District will continue to follow guidelines set in place by the Minnesota Department of Health. Although COVID-19 rates are decreasing, Hennepin County continues to have high levels of community transmission (defined by the Minnesota Department of Health as greater than 10 cases per 10,000).

Students should not come to school if they are ill or if anyone in their household is ill. The District continues to follow a 10 day isolation period for individuals with illness symptoms and a 14 day quarantine for those exposed to COVID-19 or exposed to an ill household member.

We ask that student illness symptoms are reported to the school health office: 952-928-6108. Health office staff will review exclusion guidance and determine isolation and/or quarantine dates. The illness exclusion document that is used in our schools can be viewed here.
