Greetings SLP Parents,
As we continue to navigate this pandemic, I have received feedback that providing a schedule for the week ahead is helpful for families. Here is the schedule for March 15 - 19.
|

If your student must miss class (both online or in person) due to illness, appointments or other reasons, please call the Attendance Line at 952-928-6045. If possible, please clearly spell your students LAST NAME.

If your student was marked absent but attended class (either in-person or online), please have your student email their teacher to make the correction. More More Attendance Guidelines.
IN PERSON LEARNING FOR ALL BEGINS MONDAY, APRIL 12, UNLESS IN COHORT C:
I trust you read Superintendent Osei’s message that all students wishing to attend school in person will begin attending four days a week on Monday, April 12. As of that date, we will no longer have Cohorts A and B. We will move to having two groups of students: In-Person Learners and Distance Learners (Cohort C). If you do not wish to have your student attend school, in-person, 4 days a week, starting April 12, you may move your student from In-Person learning to finish out the year as a Distance Learner (Cohort C), by completing this form-CLICK HERE FOR FORM or for any questions call KIKI CHRISTENSEN at christensen.kirsten@slpschools.org no later than Friday, April 9, 2021.
If a student is designated as an In-Person learner, the student must be in each class each day unless a parent/caregiver has called them in as ill or quarantined. The reason for this is that we need to ensure students who are supposed to be in school are here and in class as parents expect them to be.
You will see much more information about what will hopefully be our final schedule adjustment for the year soon. Please know that all of the changes we have made to our schedule have been to address the needs of our students, their learning and their safety.

2: Parent Engagement Advisory Committee Information

Hello HS Parents,
With 3 weeks of Hybrid learning in place and more to come, our staff is so appreciative of all support. We've added a few needs to the SUG in the form of $10 gift cards to be used for student recognition in grade level team meetings. Thanks to all who have generously contributed already. Please sign up if you can.
Don't ever hesitate also to send a thank you email or note to a caring teacher or staff member or reach out to understand their own classroom needs. This has been a challenging year for all and our staff continues to rise up!

4: MN State High School Snowboarding and FreeSki Championship
|
|
Margaux Pollock competed in Slopestyle, Big Air and Half Pipe. She placed second in Big Air and Third place in Slopestyle and Halfpipe at the Minnesota State High School Snowboarding and FreeSki Championship!

5: Ultimate Frisbee Club Information
|
|
Ultimate frisbee is a dynamic fast-paced sport that combines many aspects of football,
basketball and soccer, played on a field with a frisbee. SLP Ultimate Frisbee is a club
sport, with boys and girls teams. The season runs April-June, with games once a week
and practices four days a week. No experience is necessary to play; we’ll teach you
everything you need to know!

A Message from Health Services Regarding COVID-19
In an effort to keep our community’s COVID-19 spread down, the District will continue to follow guidelines set in place by the Minnesota Department of Health. Although COVID-19 rates are decreasing, Hennepin County continues to have high levels of community transmission (defined by the Minnesota Department of Health as greater than 10 cases per 10,000).
Students should not come to school if they are ill or if anyone in their household is ill. The District continues to follow a 10 day isolation period for individuals with illness symptoms and a 14 day quarantine for those exposed to COVID-19 or exposed to an ill household member.
We ask that student illness symptoms are reported to the school health office: 952-928-6605. Health office staff will review exclusion guidance and determine isolation and/or quarantine dates. The illness exclusion document that is used in our schools can be viewed here.
