A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful parent community for contributing to the Wednesday Staff Appreciation lunch and Friday goodie bags. We went with a “Root Beer” theme - root beer, bottle opener and snack items for the goodie bags. What better way to toast the staff for all they do! SLP Senior Graduation Party is almost here!
Each year parents and the community come together to throw a graduation celebration for our graduating seniors. The Senior Party immediately follows the graduation ceremony and is an opportunity for all the Seniors to celebrate their accomplishments together on their big night. The party is organized by parent volunteers and the goal is to bring the whole class together and make it FREE for all seniors.
The new graduates will celebrate at Park Tavern from 9 - 12:30 pm with food, drinks, bowling, trivia, a DJ, and, of course, each other!
To make this party FREE for all seniors our goal is to raise at least $10,000, and we need your help.

Happy AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Heritage month! We encourage students to check out our AAPI book display in the media center.
Or they may take a peek at this AAPI Collection in Destiny (our library catalog) full of print and digital materials. Students can use their SLP Google account to login.
Students may check out up to 6 nonfiction or fiction books for 3 weeks, graphic novels for 1 week. Students may visit the Media Center before and after school, over lunch, during WIN Wednesdays, Action Thursdays or during English class.

LMC End of Year Deadlines |
|
Seniors: LMC books and fines of seniors are due in the Media Center Friday, May 20th. Textbooks should be returned to teachers as advised.
Senior Chromebook Drop Off: Chromebooks and chargers must be returned to the LMC as soon as seniors are done using them May 24th - June 7th. Special collections will be held at Door 28 during cap and gown distribution May 24th and at graduation rehearsal June 7th.
Grades 9-11: The last day to checkout books in the LMC for students in grades 9-11 is Friday, May 20th. LMC books and fines of students in grades 9-11 are due in the Media Center Friday, May 27th. Textbooks should be returned to teachers as advised. Students in grades 9-11 will keep Chromebooks over the summer and through 12th grade. Students in grades 9-11 who wish to turn in Chromebooks and chargers to be held at school over the summer may bring them to the Media Center by the end of the day June 9th.
Summer Chromebook Drop Off: If you need to return a Chromebook over the summer, you may drop it off at the Enrollment Center office 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Mondays - Thursdays. This office is located at the back of the high school; follow the signs (to the right) through Door 26.

2022 D.C. Trip (9th Graders that are registered) |

There will be a mandatory in-person pre-trip meeting on Thursday, June 2, at 7:00 P.M. in the Middle School Cafeteria. At least one adult per traveling student must attend, and traveling students are highly encouraged to attend. We will be covering room assignments, flight and hotel information, packing lists, the itinerary, and much more. Please see the email from David Burr, trip coordinator, that was sent earlier this week. If you did not receive it please contact David Burr at burr.david@slpschools.org

Tickets at the door will be $50 per ticket
Tickets may be purchased in the lunchroom during lunches.
Juniors or Seniors are allowed to bring one guest (from another high school* or an underclassperson).
*Permission slips can be found in the main office, they are DUE by May 11, at 3:30pm.
NO GUESTS WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRANCE IF A PERMISSION SLIP IS NOT TURNED IN BY THIS DATE!

It is that time of year where students are looking forward to celebrating their annual Prom.
In the past, students from local and nearby schools have gathered at our property for pre event photos. Large gatherings on the common area of Galleria are no longer possible due to the modifications that we have made to the common areas of Galleria.
Students and their families are welcome to dine at Galleria restaurants and snap a quick photo, however large gatherings of guests that obstruct access to businesses will be asked to leave the property. Please pass this information along as you see fit to ensure that everyone is able to maximize their 2022 Prom experience.
Please be advised of the attached Galleria Code of Conduct that is posted throughout the property. This policy has been implemented to ensure that the customers/businesses at the Galleria can have unobstructed access to stores and services, and that the shopping experience can continue to be one of the best in the Twin Cities.

Students in AP and IB courses will begin testing on April 28 and the exam period will end on May 20. Students will receive their individual exam schedules through the Student Support Time App. Each exam invitation will include the date, time, and location of the exam. (If you are registered for exams and believe you haven’t received any invitations, please check your junk mail immediately.) Some exams will be taking place in multiple locations, so students should not rely on a classmate for their own personal schedule. Here is a copy of the complete schedule - if you have any questions about your testing location or time, please contact your AP/IB teacher or Dr. Case (case.alissa@slpschools.org).
Students will review all exam rules and requirements with their AP and IB teacher prior to the course exam date. Here are a few important general reminders for testing day(s):
No electronic devices are allowed in the testing space - please leave your phone, earbuds, smart watches, etc. at home or turned off and kept in a secure location. Students will not be allowed to access any of these devices, even during testing breaks. (The only exception for electronic devices is for students who are taking an AP Spanish, French, or German language exam. They must bring their fully charged Chromebook to take the exam.)
Students must stay in their exam space until the exam time is completed. You may not leave the exam, even if you have completed it. This is especially important for students who are scheduled for exams from 1-5pm. You will be required to stay until 5pm - please plan your transportation and family/work/athletics/activities schedule accordingly.
Students are allowed to bring a snack only in its original packaging (ie: any fruit, a granola bar, etc.) Anything packaged in a bag or tupperware will not be allowed. Students can also bring water in a clear bottle with no stickers. Snacks and water will be stored under the student’s testing table and can be accessed at break time.

Maintain a strong overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher
Qualify for free or reduced lunch
Are committed to pursuing a four-year college education
Available on Saturdays during school year
Demonstrate strong academic potential, motivation, maturity, and responsibility
Minds Matter takes a small cohort of students through 3 years - 10th, 11th and 12th and works with them on ACT prep, resume building, interviewing and other skills with the help of assigned mentors. This program offers some awesome summer opportunities for students (free of charge) and usually leads to a high portion of your 4 year degree being paid in scholarship dollars.
