1: From the Interim Principal
|
|
Hello SLP Families,
On Wednesday of this week, we welcomed the Class of 2024 to the building for Freshman Orientation. Freshmen had the opportunity to see friends, find their classrooms, meet their teachers in person, take home a free bag lunch, and experience being back in school. Special thanks go to the many juniors and seniors who welcomed our freshmen and helped them find their way in this large building during orientation.
|
|
As you can see from the pictures, there were lots of smiles behind all those masks! All students and adults wore their masks, as masks are required. All classrooms have been measured so desks and tables are placed at least 6' apart, hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies are in each classroom, and multiple signs have been placed throughout the building to remind everyone of all the new procedures to keep everyone safe.
We can't wait to see all of our students next week as we begin our hybrid model on Monday, Oct. 26th with 25% of our student body in attendance. You should have received a comprehensive brochure, providing everything you and your student/s need to know as we begin our hybrid model.
Lastly, I recently learned that when you reach the bottom of the first page of this 6425, you need to click on, "View entire message" to see all the information in the newsletter.
Kindly,
Wendy Loberg
Interim Principal
St. Louis Park High School

6: Important Reminder About Immunizations
|
|
It is important for your student to stay current on immunizations, especially during this time. Staying up-to-date on immunizations is one important way to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Check now with your family doctor or clinic to see if your student(s) has all the immunizations required for their age.
Central Clinic is now open. For general Central Clinic information, Click Here
- Will be open every Wednesday afternoon from 1-4:30pm
- Will only see patients for vaccine visits
- Will not be administering COVID testing at Central
- Will not be administering immunizations for patients who are positive for COVID symptoms
- Patients can continue to schedule phone visits for other medical needs as appropriate
- All patients and visitors must wear a mask
- Students are only allowed one adult guardian into their visit. Other visitors should remain outside the clinic
- All persons will be screened upon arrival to the lobby, or at check-in
- Social distancing guidelines will be posted and the lobby arranged to support this effort
- When appropriate, the patient can be scheduled for a virtual phone visit
The St. Louis Park School District has joined the growing number of school districts throughout the state of Minnesota who strive for immunization compliance. If the student receives an immunization during the school year; send by mail, fax, or drop off at the school the documentation of the shot(s) received.
Minnesota Statutes Section 121A.15 requires children enrolled in a Minnesota school to be immunized against certain diseases, or file a legal medical or conscientious exemption. This form is designed to provide the school with information required by the law.

Congratulations Angel Diaz, Class of 2021
Member of St. Louis Park Trade Ambassador Program
Across the nation, we are experiencing a massive and increasing need for skilled workers. Year after year skilled trades are the most difficult careers to fill. In step with their tradition and promise of innovative solutions, the Gustave A. Larson Company is excited to have partnered with GPS Education Partners to take on the challenge of encouraging new recruits to the HVAC/R industry with a HVAC/R youth apprenticeship program that matches motivated student workers with promising careers.
The primary objective of this program is to educate high school students about the industry and help them gain the skills needed for careers in the trade. Students develop technical knowledge and professional skills in this unique program as they cross-train among Warehouse, Counter Sales and HVAC/R Technician positions.
