65th Ave Entrance Reopening

Effective tomorrow, January 25, the entrance to the Queens College campus located on Kissena Boulevard at 65th Avenue (north of the Main Gate) will be open to vehicles and pedestrians. Please note the new traffic patterns for vehicles and pedestrians:

  • Pedestrians may enter the campus at the Kissena Blvd./65th Avenue entrance or at the Main Gate entrance.

  • A new security booth will be situated at the Kissena Blvd./65th Avenue entrance where pedestrians will need to tap their QCard for campus access. Pedestrians entering through the Main Gate entrance will continue to use their QCard to access campus, as has been the practice until now.

  • Vehicles should enter campus through the Kissena Blvd./65th Avenue entrance and proceed to the security booth at the Main Gate.

Update to CUNY COVID Guidance

Please note: The QC website is being updated with complete guidance (effective

February 1, 2023.) Below, in conformance with CUNY guidance, are the most important changes:

  • Removal of COVID Visitors Policy – We will no longer require vaccine or testing for visitors.

  • Removal of Residence Hall Testing – We will no longer require weekly testing of the residence hall students. They will be folded into the random testing population.

  • Reduction of Random Testing – We will move from testing of 10% of our population to 5%.

  • Removal of Gateway Testing – We will no longer require gateway testing for athletes and residence hall students.

Masking

At this time, CUNY does not require face masks. Anyone who would like to continue wearing masks in any setting is welcome to do so at any time.

Due to the increased rates of COVID-19, seasonal flu, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), the NYC Health Department strongly recommends the use of masks. Masks will continue to be available on campus and offices. Faculty, staff, and students who are still not vaccinated are urged to continue to wear a mask.

Please be reminded that if you need a mask, they are available upon request at every entrance where you tap your QCard to enter and at every Public Safety booth.

Campus offices may continue to request a supply of masks by sending a work request to Buildings and Grounds at [email protected] or stopping by the B&G office (L1 building) Monday through Friday, 8 am-4 pm.
