Together, we broke a record!
Applications for our 2019 Global Climate Action Awards closed in early May and we received a record breaking number of applications - 671 in total.

The challenging task of selecting the most transformative climate action projects from hundreds of outstanding applications is currently underway. In the coming weeks, shortlisted projects will be sent to our expert Advisory Panel for review.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate their game-changing projects.

Winning projects will be announced in September and celebrated at the UN Climate Change Conference in Santiago, Chile this December.
JUST RELEASED: New videos of our 2018 award-winning projects
Need some inspiration? We have released the first 8 of 12 new videos showcasing the groundswell of climate action underway around the world.

As the world celebrated World Bicycle Day last week, we recommend that you get started by watching 'Yalla Let's Bike!' - an initiative that defies traditional gender roles in Syria and promotes cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transport.

All videos are available on  our Vimeo channel .

Lights, Camera, Chile: Win your way to COP25!
Young people are invited to tell the world how they are shaping a more sustainable future by entering the  Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change.

This year, the video competition aims to showcase positive solutions on three themes:
  • Biodiversity: Nature-based solutions for food and human health;
  • Climate: Cities and local action to combat climate change, and
  • Land: Balancing the use of land for people and ecosystems.
The three winners will travel to the UN Climate Conference in Santiago, Chile in December 2019 (COP 25). For two weeks, they'll have the opportunity to help the UNFCCC Newsroom team as youth reporters, supporting the team with videos, blogs and social media.

Young people aged between 18 - 30 can submit their video  here. Applications close 28 July 2019.
