Clozapine: Understanding Benefits & Barriers
Although 20-30% of people affected by schizophrenia may benefit from a trial, clozapine is highly underutilized in the US (around 4% currently). Clozapine should not be considered a treatment of “last resort.” Individuals and families can play a powerful role in advocating for a trial of clozapine if other medications have not been successful.

This webinar will help individuals and families understand clozapine’s unique and potentially life changing benefits. We too will discuss clozapine’s side effects. One of the possible side effects is clozapine’s ability to decrease a person’s neutrophils, the cells in the body responsible for fighting off infection. The consequences of this side effect are mitigated by the prescriber checking blood work once per week for the first six months someone is taking clozapine. Learn more and register.
