Issue #66 | Sept. 19, 2025

Construction Updates

Construction remains active throughout the corridor this month. Crews are implementing a series of traffic switches, so drivers should stay alert for configuration changes. Additional closures occurred for overhead sign installation and final striping, including near Blue Valley Parkway.

Looking ahead to early October, 167th Street and the 167th Street southbound U.S. 69 exit and northbound entrance ramps are on track to reopen. Once open, construction will continue in the area as crews work on the new bridges and south-facing ramps.

Grading and other construction work are ongoing at the U.S. 69/167th Street interchange.

Express Lane Tolling Technology & Billing

When a vehicle passes under a 69Express tolling gantry, tolling technology will either read the vehicle’s KTAG/compatible transponder or license plate. Toll transactions for both KTAG and license plate travel will be available in a single DriveKS account.

Using a KTAG or Compatible Transponder

Express lane users with a KTAG or compatible transponder in their vehicles will save 50% on tolls compared to those without a compatible transponder. The KTAG rate will be displayed on overhead signs in the corridor. Learn more about KTAG here.

Gantries – now installed throughout the 69Express corridor – hold digital signs and tolling technology.

Without a Transponder

  • Drivers who don’t have a KTAG or compatible transponder will receive a mailed bill from DriveKS. You can pay your toll by visiting the DriveKS.com website, or by mail or phone. Go to DriveKS.com to see your payment options.
