COMING SOON!
KCMO recently introduced Compass KC, a new permitting system that will make it easier to do business with The City of Kansas City, Missouri. Compass KC will link city departments, to provide a one-stop shop for residents and businesses. Compass KC will allow residents to apply for various permits electronically, eliminating the need to visit City Hall to pick up and pay for permits.

Compass KC will provide a number of benefits to the community and make it easier to access and interact with data stored by the city.

Data from the following departments will be available on Compass KC.

  • Fire Prevention
  • Health
  • Neighborhoods and Housing Services
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Planning and Development
  • Public Works
  • Regulated Industries
  • Water Services

Once the system launches, you can watch tutorials on how to register, search for permits, apply for plans/permits and how to use the dashboard. You can also find out how to register in the user guide.

For additional information and to pre-register, visit kcmo.gov/CompassKC
For general questions about the software, email CompassKC@kcmo.org.
2018 PIAC Hearings
In April, residents of Kansas City showed their overwhelming support for The Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC) by reauthorizing a one-cent capital improvements sales tax. Each year this provides approximately $70 million for public infrastructure investments throughout the city, with each council district receiving around $4 million to fund in-district projects submitted through the PIAC process. Any resident can submit an application to request PIAC funding for a particular public improvement project. PIAC, in cooperation with the Mayor and City Council, hold public hearings across the city, where residents can provide comments and testimony on their proposed project or any other project proposed to the committee. Following the completion of all hearings, PIAC will recommend projects for funding to the Council for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.

There are two PIAC hearings scheduled in the 6th Distict (see below), but residents can provide input and testimony at any PIAC hearing.

  • Tuesday, June 19, 2018 | 6 – 8 p.m. | Hillcrest Community Center | 10401 Hillcrest Road
  • Thursday, July 12, 2018 | 6 – 8 p.m. | Kansas City United Church of Christ (Formerly CCCUC) | 205 W 65th St

Please visit kcmo.gov/PIAC to for a complete list of hearings and to submit an application
