Good Afternoon Families -
We are writing to inform you that, due to weather conditions, Los Angeles County Outdoor Science School in Wrightwood has canceled our trip. We spoke with the camp director this morning and she followed up with the following statement.
“During our conversation, we reviewed the NOAA forecast for Wrightwood of 1 to 2 feet of snow later this week with unsafe travel conditions in the mountains…canceling the trip to the Los Angeles County Outdoor Science School is the safest and likely only possible choice since travel may not be feasible with a bus on Friday. Thank you so much for your patience and we look forward to serving Hermosa Valley students again in the future.”
We realize this is disappointing news. We are working on other options which will allow our 6th grade students to engage in the Outdoor Ed experience. Trip refunds will be issued and we will communicate the refund process by the end of this week. We apologize for this unfortunate inconvenience and are committed to keeping you informed. Thank you for your continued support in Hermosa Valley’s Outdoor Ed program.
Should you have any immediate questions, please contact Assistant Principal Robinson at RRobinson@hbcsd.org.
Sincerely,
Jessica Bledsoe
