6th Ward family,

Summer is here, bringing opportunities to enjoy our parks, support local businesses, and connect with friends and neighbors at community events throughout the ward.

As we gather this season, let's continue looking out for one another. Check in on your neighbors, help keep our blocks clean, and take pride in the community we share. These small acts of kindness make a big difference.

We've accomplished a great deal together, and we're working on even more to continue moving the 6th Ward forward. I will continue advocating for our community and ensuring the 6th Ward receives the attention, resources, and investment it deserves. If you need assistance or have questions, my office is always here to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for being an important part of the 6th Ward. Together, we'll continue building a stronger, safer, and more connected community.

6th Ward in Action

6th Ward Community Calendar

This year, we’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Take a look at our 2026 Community Calendar to stay connected and engaged with us throughout the year.

Breakfast with Alderman Hall

I had the pleasure of visiting six senior buildings throughout the 6th Ward to eat breakfast and spend time with residents. These conversations allowed me to hear directly from seniors about their concerns, answer questions, and connect them with available resources.

Most importantly, they gave me an opportunity to listen. The feedback I receive during these visits helps guide my work and ensures that the needs of our senior residents remain a priority.

Ward-Wide Community Zoning Meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined our Community Zoning Meeting in June. Your participation, questions, and feedback are essential to the future of the 6th Ward.

Together, we discussed development proposals, public safety concerns, and opportunities along the 75th Street corridor. I remain committed to ensuring residents have a voice in decisions that impact our neighborhoods, and I will continue bringing your input to the table as these discussions move forward.

Steppin' in the Shade

One of the things I enjoy most is seeing neighbors come together and enjoy one another's company. Steppin' in the Shade continues to provide a space for residents to connect, build relationships, and celebrate community. Events like these strengthen the bonds that make the 6th Ward special and remind us of the importance of creating opportunities for fellowship and engagement.

Tuley Park Ribbon Cutting

I was proud to celebrate the reopening of the newly renovated tennis and pickleball courts at Tuley Park. These improvements represent another investment in the health, wellness, and quality of life of our residents. By creating safe and accessible recreational spaces, we're ensuring that children, families, and seniors have opportunities to stay active and enjoy all that our parks have to offer.

Gospel Run Pop-Up

The Gospel Run Pop-Up was a great example of how fitness, faith, and community can come together. It was inspiring to see residents of all ages participate and support one another while promoting healthy lifestyles. Events like these help build stronger communities and encourage residents to prioritize both their physical and mental well-being.

Twisted Egg Roll Groundbreaking

I was excited to join the groundbreaking celebration for Twisted Egg Roll's new location on 75th Street. Seeing a once-vacant property transformed into a new business is exactly the kind of investment we want to encourage in the 6th Ward. Supporting local entrepreneurs creates jobs, strengthens our commercial corridors, and helps bring new energy and opportunity to our neighborhoods.

Treasurer's Chicago STAR Award Tour

I was honored to join City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin in recognizing two outstanding 6th Ward businesses, Brown Sugar Bakery and Soul Veg City, during the Chicago STAR Award Tour. These businesses have invested in our community, created opportunities, and served residents for years. Supporting local businesses remains a priority because strong businesses help create strong neighborhoods, and their success contributes directly to the continued growth of the 6th Ward.
