Dear Neighbors,

We’ve missed connecting with you in your inbox! I’m excited to share that moving forward, you’ll be hearing from us each month with important updates, resources, and ways to stay connected in the 6th Ward.

As we move forward together, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued partnership and commitment to our community. Your voices, concerns, and ideas guide the work we do every day to make our neighborhoods safer, stronger, and full of opportunity.

This season, I am proud to share that we continue to invest in improvements across our ward. Projects such as the new pickleball court and pathway repaving at Nat King Cole Park, along with cultural enhancements planned for Hamilton Park, are just a few examples of how we are creating spaces that honor our history and provide opportunities for recreation, learning, and togetherness.

I also want to thank everyone who has reached out to our office—whether about tree trimming, street resurfacing, or neighborhood safety. Please know that every request is important, and we are committed to working with city departments to see these issues addressed.

Together, we are building a ward that reflects our values: community, respect, and progress. Let’s continue to support one another and keep making the 6th Ward a place we are all proud to call home.

In service,

Alderman William Hall

Constituent Service Updates

Service Requests

I’m proud to share that in just the past seven days, city departments have successfully completed more than 3,400 service requests. From pothole repairs and sanitation needs to public safety and neighborhood planning, your calls ensure that our ward’s priorities are addressed.

Thank you for continuing to use 311 to report issues that matter to you. Every request helps us build a stronger, safer, and more responsive community. If you need to submit a new service request, you can always call 311 or use the City’s CH311 app to log concerns such as tree trimming, streetlight outages, or other neighborhood needs.

Constituent Calls

This month, the 6th Ward has seen a total of 6,081 service calls submitted through 311, with 31 new requests received today alone. Many of these calls were directed to departments that keep our neighborhoods running every day. The Water Department received 1,700 requests, while both Streets & Sanitation and the Chicago Department of Transportation each handled 1,300. The Police Department addressed 523 service-related calls, and the Department of Planning received 503.

Success Story – Quick Action on Alley Potholes

A resident from the 6600 block of South Michigan reached our office regarding large potholes in her alley. She had been calling about this issue and was eager to see progress. Within just one week, with the partnership and quick response of CDOT, the potholes were fully filled.

This is a great example of how collaboration between residents and city departments leads to real results. We thank the residents for bringing this concern to our attention and CDOT for acting swiftly to improve the quality of life on the block.

Legends of the 6th – Senior Series.

On August 27, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting our seniors with a Board Game Day at Paradise Haven. Seniors came together for an afternoon filled with laughter, connection, and a little friendly competition.

From classic board games to bingo, the event was more than just play—it was an opportunity for neighbors to build community, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. The energy in the room reflected the spirit of the 6th Ward: togetherness, joy, and support across generations.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Paradise Haven for opening their doors and helping make the day such a success. We also want to recognize all of our seniors who participated—you truly are the legends of our ward.
