Community News

Welcome, Raptors!

A laid-back visit for some of our Seniors, above, on campus earlier this week. They'll lead the way this year for our younger students, including the incoming Freshman class.

Those ninth graders are busy getting to know Academic Magnet during the Summer Scholars program this week, connecting with classmates, faculty, staff, and student leaders. Check out highlights on the school's Facebook page.

And below, meet the amazing mentors for this year's Summer Scholars!

A special note for everyone involved from Principal Reese:

"It has been said that the best way to find yourself is to serve others, and I can’t say thank you enough to the numerous student volunteers who have helped with Summer Scholars and AMHS Back-to-School events.

Your service makes it possible to welcome new students and families, support our teachers and staff, and ensure that these important events run smoothly. More importantly, your willingness to give your time and talents reflects the very best of Academic Magnet High School.

Thank you for leading by example and demonstrating that true leadership begins with serving others."

Did You Know...?

  • PIE pays for the AMHS JSTOR subscription that gives our students access to a digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources for research?
  • PIE volunteers operate the AMHS Spirit Store - and inventory has been restocked!

Principal Reese's Newsletters

Parents should have started receiving weekly emails from Principal Reese starting on June 30. If you missed them, you can find them on the website at this link.
