Monument Valley
If there’s one iconic scene that screams “great American road trip”, it would probably be Monument Valley. This breathtaking region is an excellent place to have an adventure if you want to explore a vast, wondrous landscape. One of the most photographed places on earth, this enormous valley boasts sandstone towers at heights up to 1,000 feet!

Montezuma Castle
If you want to see a true feat in flexibility and strength, Montezuma Castle is quite a site. Carved into a towering limestone cliff, this structure is the third National Monument dedicated to preserving Native American culture. It is a short walk from the parking lot among beautiful native foliage. It’s quite amazing!

London Bridge
Did you know that the original London Bridge is actually in Arizona? What now stands as the centerpiece in the town of Lake Havasu City, London Bridge was originally constructed over the River Thames in London half a century ago. Check out this piece of history and enjoy the beachfront resorts and many outdoor adventures in Lake Havasu City.

Saguaro National Park
This iconic Arizona park is named after the nation’s largest cacti – the Saguaro. Here you have a chance to see these enormous cacti, silhouetted by the beauty of a magnificent desert sunset. With over 150 miles of trails, this is the perfect place to visit for those excited to explore the desert wilderness.

|
Tumacácori National Historical Park
If you are fascinated by Spanish culture, you need to check out Tumacácori National Historical Park. Unlike many old buildings, each of the three mission communities hasn't been rebuilt. You get to explore historical ruins that were abandoned after 19th-century Apache raids. Sounds like a great adventure and a step back in history.

Sedona
If you want to experience the culture of the local Native Americans, the small, scenic town of Sedona is an excellent stop. Located in Verde Valley, the desert town is a cultural arts enclave surrounded by incredible rock formations. You can take a quick hike and get an expansive view of the landscape. The sacred area is surrounded by 1.8 million acres of national forest and consists of a variety of shops and art galleries. Some also believe that within the rock formations lie vortexes, centers of energy offering an ideal place for healing, meditation, and self-exploration.

Sonoran Desert
Though this list provides a wide variety of attractions, we decided to end by including a place representing idyllic desert Arizona. This place is the Sonoran desert, a landscape that stretches out over 10,000 miles. Be warned, though — the countryside is known as the hottest in the entire United States. Rainfall is also frequent, which results in varied vegetation. If you want an authentic Arizona adventure, look no further than this exciting landscape.
