TRUTHS
At Setser Group we value diversity of thought. We are committed to having crucial conversations within our teams, clients, on the web, and in personal relationships. We do this while holding our own boundaries and respect for those around us. We recognize that as leaders, you must often be the ones to create, hold, and maintain the space for these conversations. Create the chances for connection today and have the crucial conversations to move your organization forward by leveraging the tactics, truths, and tools in this e-letter.

In the book Crucial Conversations, the authors share a simple 7 step model of strategies we can use today to start powerful conversations.
This framework can help you get through any difficult conversation. It will allow you to open the door to powerful, transformative conversations. Long lasting relationships are built in this space.
TOOLS FOR VISUAL ANIMATION AND STORYTELLING
One of the most innovative thought leaders of our time is Steven Johnson. In his book Where Do Good Ideas Come From, he worked with RSA Animate to create the following visual story. Take some time to watch the video and think about how you can create connections around the collision of ideas in your workplaces and learning spaces.
Want to use tools like RSA Animate on a budget? Here are some of our favorites for small and growing teams to create impact in their visual storytelling and design:

Canva - graphic design platform we use at Setser Group
Flip Grid - video tool to create virtual assignments
PowToon - create powerful marketing videos online
Common Craft - Lower cost subscription service option compared to RSA Animate
As we continue our October challenge, we ask that you share a post using the strategies above to boost engagement and start a powerful conversation today. For example, have that discussion you’ve been avoiding or share how you feel on a current topic while also asking others for input. Sample post themes might include: Where do we have crucial conversations in a virtual world? Over zoom, via phone, and/or meeting somewhere outdoors using social distance protocols?
We want to hear from you. Once you do this, go to the post on Instagram and add a comment saying “Complete” for this week.

Bonus tip: Share a link to your post tied to this challenge so we can check it out and engage. This is the season for connection. Let’s start some powerful, transformational discussions today. While you’re there, tag 2 people you think could benefit from this week’s challenge.
The prize for week 3 is a free Audible credit for a book of your choice that supports the crucial conversations you want to have online.
