7 Ways to Invest in Your Health
Watercolor of Mueller Park in Austin, by Cass Grange
Hello Megan,
The beginning of the year is the time for resolutions. One of the top resolutions for Americans is better health. This is an important part of your investment portfolio because, without good health, you may not be able to travel, visit grandchildren, volunteer, or do all the things you dream of doing. Using your resources to improve your health can be a great investment. People ask if joining a gym is a good idea, and the answer is yes, IF you will go to the gym and use it! Some people are motivated by group activities, others need a trainer, and others enjoy a Peloton membership. This month we asked concierge health coach, Celeste Wade, to give us her thoughts on wealth and health.
Sincerely,
Cass, Bleckley and Megan

You think about financial investments and wealth management, but how much have you invested in your Health Wealth?
Health Wealth
Good health makes all other things possible and even more enjoyable, yet health is so often neglected due to reasons, such as: “I don’t have time,” “One day, I’ll get around to it,” or a severe case of: “I don’t want to.” However, if you are not investing in your Health Wealth Portfolio, you and your family are losing assets every day.

Your Wise Health Wealth Portfolio Checklist
To get started, review this checklist. Assess where you are excelling and lacking in your Health Wealth assets:
1. Food: Lean proteins, 3 to 5 fruits and vegetables a day.
2. Hydration: Minimum of 64 ounces of water a day.
3. Exercise: 20 minutes of high-intensity activity, 3 to 5 times a week.
4. Sleep: Are you getting the amount you need each night? At least 7 to 9 hours is recommended.
5. Strength training: 3 to 4 times per week.
6. Mindset: Are you having fun? Do you have joy? Are you happy?
7. Life Goals: Have a plan for what you will do and more importantly, WHEN?
Now do a cost-benefit analysis of your findings. If you can check off all seven points, you are setting yourself up for an amazing life both now and in the future! If you are not able to check all seven Health Wealth items as being carefully managed, it is time to consider getting some assistance with creating and managing your Health Wealth Portfolio. Your investment in both your and your family’s Health Wealth can be a profitable return on your investment!

Inherited IRA Rules Change in 2025
Here is What Beneficiaries Need to Know
After four years of waived penalties for not taking required minimum distributions (RMDs) from IRAs inherited in 2020 or later, the IRS confirmed in July that certain heirs will need to begin yearly RMDs from these accounts starting in 2025. If you are a non-spouse who inherited an IRA 2020 or later, if the original account owner had reached their RMD age before passing away, you will need to take an RMD in 2025. This new rule applies to many beneficiaries under the “10-year rule “ established by the SECURE Act in 2018.
Since the IRS waived required minimum distribution (RMD) requirements for inherited IRAs from 2020 through 2024, IRA beneficiaries will not face penalties for missed distribuions in those years. If you have any questions, please contact us. We are happy to discuss your distribution strategy with you.
